HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Big Maude! :)
And just for her. ME-TV aired 'Return to Mayberry' this afternoon,
followed by the "pilot" for TAGS, which was a Danny Thomas Show episode.

Today was the first time that I saw that pilot all the way thru, and i never
knew that Aunt Bee was in it as a Mrs. Perkins, and that Ben Weaver was in it
as a cigar totin' Mr. Johnson. Even Rance Howard was in it with a small part.
Very interesting indeed. The courthouse was also quite different.
All goes pretty well on this end. It has been very windy the past few days,
and that brought some cooler temps after our stretch of recent 90s!
Yes, GF, I also miss them. RO kept us in stitches with sightings of critter
antics as well as Trinket doings.
And Billy Ray, yes, Floyd was so funny thru-out that whole episode.
My Mayberry Memories book mentions that that was the last ep he was in
before his stroke. Unfortunately, he was never quite the same after that.
Well, I hope y'all had a good quiet Sabbath day. I did some ironing today!
Havent done that for a while, but Cecile is learnin' me real good.

Been pretty dry lately. I got to thinking how Ro would keep us

a pretty 'boring' backyard... no pond, no fountain, no squirels,

a few lizards sunning themselves on the back wall as they watch the

A beautiful morning on my end of the porch. Sunny and 62 degrees. Memorial weekend was rainy off and on so I didn't get my flowers to the cemetery. Hoping I will be able to this weekend. My kids usually like to help so hopefully they will be able to go.

My little grandson Tripp is 6 months old today! Time has flown by. He is going well, sitting up and trying to crawl. He is generally a happy little fella, grins most of the time. They are starting to feed him regular food. The pediatrician told them to feed him anything he will eat except honey, and sugar. My daughter in law is very good cook and makes things he can eat easily. Apparently the "rules" have changed and its ok to not feed them "baby" food. times have changed a lot since my kids were babies. lol

I did finally get my flowers planted. I plant impatients in my flower bed and they usually do pretty well. I only plant flowers in the front part of the house/yard as the deer eat most everything I plant in the backyard. The squirrels have been known to dig up my bulbs and move them. Now we need to have some not rainy days on the weekend to get our front porch and furniture cleaned from all the pollen.

John Masters: If I am not mistaken, I think there were even some Andy Griffith coloring books out in the 60's. G-F would know for sure tho.

June 12, 2024 - Msg 119976: Everyone complains about the dry heat but nobody does anything about it. Calvin Coolidge said that.

I'm halfway through mowing, taking a break.

Oh, and I think I got the wrong ep with Neal.
He was the one with the dog whistle.

June 13, 2024 - Msg 119978: I was so tired from mowing I slept to seven THIRTY this morning. That don't happen often. That brought to mind a question I don't know the answer to: Is anyone ever shown mowing on TAGS? I sort of recollect it when Barney was training Opie for the 50 yard dash but I don't know.

June 13, 2024 - Msg 119981: Thanks for the tip about Floyd, Big Maude. Prayers for sure. Billy Ray, Otis is shown attempting to push and pull an old rotary mower in Aunt Bee the Warden. Bear sightings, eh? From our fishing boat in Ontario years ago, my husband and I saw a black bear swimming in the lake. A little close for comfort in my book! Storms were expected here tonight but thankfully just rain. Garden work has ramped up. So far I’ve put 18 bags of peas in the freezer. Will likely be canning green beans tomorrow, and I made a delicious black raspberry pie today. Yummy. Hope ya’ll are well on your respective porches. Prayers for Cecile, MDC.

June 14, 2024 - Msg 119985: Sorry is been so long, friends, just been very busy with work these days. Got sick this week, though with gastrointestinal trouble (stupid IBS again), but starting to feel better today and taking it easy.

Not much new around here. It is super hot for June so we are dreading August and September. Hoping we don't get a hurricane this year.

We are all just working and living life. Mari is doing well with her Aunt. I got to see her for a short time this week.

Hope all of you have a good weekend! And Happy Fathers Day too you Dads out there.

Hello Porchsters! Boy, Tuesday got away from me, and now almost all of
wed. too! Cecile had doc appts M Tu & W. Today it was a digestive health
doctor as it has become harder for her to swallow correctly. I have to take
her of course, and we have had some really hot days.
POOR Horatio, so good to see you back on the porch, but I am so sorry
to hear you are in the hospital. I hear ya about getting old!

Good to see CT, BOO, Billy Ray, possum, RayTWW, GF and also Jelsik!.
Charlotte, I sure hope them peas are better than Bee's pickles! :)

BOO- I see that your end of the porch is getting quite a bit of rain.
I hope that helps lower the temps, but I guess it also raises the humidity.
We havent mentioned pets here for a while. I know ASA always talked about
his Barney, and Ro her doggies. I also liked her 'southern' expressions,
like "I'll go scare up some lunch." :)
I see that "To Kill a Mockingbird" is 60 years old now. I think that is
where our BOO got her "handle" if I recall. I saw a show about it, and they
mentioned how Scout called her dad by his first name, Aticus. That was
quite different, but it is basically Harper Lee's autobiographical account.

Well, ya all hang in there. I will try to post more often as things
move along. Thanks for your prayers.
