June 26, 2006 - Msg 41380: Floyd, MSG 41366, that was the point I was trying to make! Thank's Floyd for putting in such nice word's! Your probally much older then I am and their for you know how to put in wise word's. I hope BWB and Boo read it!

Anyway's how is everyone on this boiling afternoon? I can't stand it this hot!

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41382: Anybody rocking?

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41383: I know that some of you don't trust me, and I don't know why, because I am telling the truth. I have not been a judge very long, and I do have some problems that ya'll don't know about, but my inexperience as a judge, is probably why my legal advice is so bad. Am I still welcome here??? If not, just tell me, and I'll leave. Barnwannabe.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41384: I just did what I said I was not going to do. I lied. I am not a judge. I thought that if I didn't have a big job, or something like that, that I wouldn't fit in. It was also a cover for not giving out info. The God's honest truth is that I don't like giving out info. I so hope that ya'll will forgive me. It ate at me, and ate at me, and then last night when auh2o confronted me about it, I got scared and did what I always do, I ran. I hope that you can forgive me. The legal advise that I gave was the deepest, most intellegent advice that I could give, which says that I am a pathetic person. I hope so that Warren will still be my friend, because he stood up for someone who was lying. I prayed about it last night, and I decided to square with you, but just a minute ago, when I sat down to tell ya'll the truth, I chickened out. I need help with this, and after I did some thinking, and I was hurting some of the, if not the best people in the world. The reason that I had never had such a deep conversation with Millie, was because I hadn't accept for with my parents, and now that they are elderly, you sit down to have a conversation with them, and they don't understand what you are talking about. I am so sorry for all of the trouble that I caused, and I beg you, PLEASE forgive me. If ya'll really hate me, I understand. At this point, I hate myself for what I have done, and for some things that are going on in my life. PLEASE< PLEASE< PLEASE forgive me. I need ya'll to talk to. Thanks, and If I am still not welcome here, I deeply understand. Thank you again. Barnwannabe.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41385: I am shaking, please somebody tell me if I am still welcome, before I throw up. Barnwannabe.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41386: Barnwannabe, I can't believe you lied. Of course I can forgive you, but I can't understand why you did it. Is your self esteem that low? These people have been so cool to me, I would never lie here. If you want to stop by here and be a porchster, you have to be yourself. That doesn't mean you have to give out personal info, just be real. It may take awhile for people to warm up, you understand why. Boo was afraid last night, and I don't know if that can be fixed.
Anyway, I'm glad you came clean.
There's a good person in there somewhere.....
Millie

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41387: Barnwannabe read Floyd's message in the latest archive, MSG 41366. That should tell your welcome here.

Barnwannabe, please stay! I enjoy chating with you alot! Will everyone else agree?

Boo, Im not mad anymore, BUT, he was only trying to help!

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41389:
BWB- you have my forgiveness. You seem like a sincere person, but if you have repented of your sin of lying, asked the Lord to forgive you, HE did, and so do I. Funny, people like AUh20 and some of us longtimers can "sense" when all is not kosher on the porch, and i have been sensing that for a few weeks now.
Really, all of us have found this site due to our love of TAGS, and that is our main reason for being here, to do as it says at the top of the page, to sit and to "jaw" for a while as Andy and Barney etc would do on the show, but we also bring up some prayer requests, problems or even "soapbox" issues. So, with that in mind, I would say you are welcome anytime. Just be up front, honest and have a good time.

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41395: Thank you for that Warren. I really am thankful that I have friends like ya'll. How about we play Mayberry people, AND landmarks??? BWB.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41396: Guy's I will admit this my-self. This is not something I lie'd about, but it's something I don't do.

I never go to church. Why am I telling the porch this? Well Barnwannabe did something brave and I should to.

I know how envolved in Church everyone is here and you may think Im a bad person, but just cuz I don't go to church mean's Im a bad person.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41399: I ask you who did this or that, and you give me the answer. I ask you what the name of a place in Mayberry was, you give me the answer. I don't either. I go occasianaly with my mother and father, but not much, 5, or 6 times a year. I apoligize for that, but I do believe in God, I pray every night, and I believe that Jesus is my Lord and savior, and he died on the cross for me. Just because Warren and I don't go to Church regularly, does that mean that we are bad people??? When I was a child, I went with my grandparents quite often, but now that they are gone, I don't go. Thanks for every one's forgiveness, and I'm done spilling my guts. LOL!!! Wanna play that game Warren??? BWB

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41410: My goodness. This porch never ceases to amaze me. BWB, of course you're welcome here. You don't have to be any big shakes to impress anyone here, we're just plain old folks, all of us. Warren, you're a bit impetuous at times, but they don't hang a feller for that. Boo is very stressed and therefore a bit sensitive and got scared.

Nothing would make me happier than to see you two guys just settle down and become regular old Mayberrians. BWB, I hear they're looking for a brine tester over at the pickle factory. You don't get any black robes or a little wooden hammer, but it's honest work. Warren, I reckon Andy can always use a deputy. Just don't wear out that ticket book.

As I've said, and others have said, I think it's important to remember that this is not instant chat. If you ask a question, express an opinion, or comment in any way, don't get upset if no one answers. Also, if you get an answer that isn't what you wanted to hear, read up the line a ways to see if it might be an answer to someone else, not you. It can get very confusing. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't sit at this keyboard 24/7 (well, almost, but not quite) so sometimes things are a bit outdated by the time I read them, and a comment seems inappropriate by then.

Bottom line - patience, honeys and dears, patience. Patience and forbearance, that should be our motto around here. Maybe we'll even break Rule #2 and write it on the wall!

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41418: Hey auh2o...personally, I'm not a lawyer so I can't make a judgement about what you're saying. If you're a lawyer, I'll agree. Otherwise, I'll have to believe what our judge said would/could be the case. It wouldn't been wise for me to say anything about legal issues since I'm just a barber.

No harm done toward me but we might want to be a little careful about jumping to judgement.

CHAT ROOM
You folks had a hard time getting to Sarah's chat room? Give it a try. You should already have "Java" installed on your computer so the room should work. I'm in there right now.

When you first get there...pick a name...if you're name isn't already being used on that chat network, you'll be able to get it. It starts out...it looks like you should put in the name you want...that doesn't seem to work any more. Just wait about 7 seconds and it will change to the chat room.

Enter your Nickname there....if you don't get the one you want...you can type "/NICK " without the <> and try and pick another one. Once you get a name...you're ready to chat.

I'm in there...see you there.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41419: To #41402, whoever you are - you need to know that an unsigned post is considered cowardly, and will generally be ignored. The only reason I'm commenting is so that you will know that in the future. Occasionally someone will post a funny comment and not sign, and that's okay. Now Warren. . .not everyone on the porch attends a church regularly - but most of us believe in God and we are good Christian people. The Bible is not only a head thing but for the most part it is a heart thing. I went to Bible college with too many wannabe preachers who never got the heart thing. You may know how Christianity evolved but you never got the heart message of it. . .that takes a little time. We pray for one another and we will pray for both you and BWB. . .

Shew! I'm pooped and its only a little after 9pm! My stepchildren are on Arizona time so it was 1:30am before the kids were asleep. Hubby had to work (outside of the home) all day so I said I'd stay up to get them into bed. I was up at 8 making his breakfast and packing lunch. Stepson, Nicholas, is a real outdoor sportsman so we went to Bass Pro Shop today. The kids really love it. I forget how much work it is having 2 extra kids! I've already done dishes 2x's today! Oh well, hopefully it'll be worth it when they're older. I was like that with my parents. I didn't appreciate all they did for me until I became a Mother myself.
Me-They- I, too, admire Jimmy Carter, and that's why I got the book. I'll check out some of his other ones. To be a public figure and stand up for his religion is commendable.
MDC- I'm glad you're back. I was wondering if you're okay with the fires out there.
Tom- Thanks for checking in also. Its so cool that when people don't show up you really miss them.
Floyd- I'll check out the chatroom tomorrow. I want to make sure I get my TAGS name! Thank you!
BWB- I am disappointed that you lied, but thankful that you fessed up. I'll be praying for God to work on your heart. I thought you might have been fibbing because of your frequent mis-spellings. I often remind my children (and I'm not saying you're a child) about the story of the boy who cried wolf. Respect us all enough not to judge you. Interesting that you should be the judge when you're judging us in how we'd react.
Boo- Sweetie, I know you're dealing with alot right now. Your brothers, your Father, Sean, your animal findings, and now this. You are deeply in my prayers. If there's anything else I can do let me know.
Big Maude- Wasn't Cracker Barrel grand? haha. Thank you for helping out with feedin' us big bunch!
Irishter- Its so amazing that you're missionaries! Hubby talks about doing something like that but only a short mission. Good luck with VBS.
Homemaker- I like what you said about church. I feel best when I go to church, but I do not feel that you need to go to church to be a Christian.
Warren- Thank you for opening up and trusting us. Anytime you'd like to speak to us about Christianity we are all available!

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41493: I can't Mavis, my computer won't let me. BWB

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41494: Barnwannabe try it, it's fun! You know Sara's chatline thing.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41495: My computer won't let me Warren!!! BWB

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41496: Anybody still here??? BWB

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41497: I just dropped in, BWB. When your cousin fixes your computer, go on over to Sarah's. I think you'll really like it. It's set up for the "popcorn" type of chat that you and Warren enjoy, and for that matter, the rest of us do too, now and then. I had fun with Floyd, Mavis, and Big Maude earlier. It lets you more energetic, younger folk just bat the conversational ball wherever you wish. Just remember to change to a lower gear when you come back on the porch. --Romeena

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41498: Okay. I'll give her a shot. Are you here to talk with me for a while??? BWB

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41499: You won't believe this... I just got a chain letter. Well sort of. It was a chain e-mail. It went on and on about how someone who I didn't know existed loved me. It said that my love life would be cursed if I didn't send the e-mail to at least ten people before 12 o'clock tonight. I thought it was cool though, because of the TAGS episode "The lucky letter" (Season 5). BWB

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41500: Night porch!

Deputy Warren Ferguson

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41501: Night Warren. Barnwannabe.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41502: BWBAre you kidding about that chain e-mail? Now I've heard everything! I thought of that ep too as soon as you said that. I had a blast at Sarah's, it is so much fun, hope your computer will let you or Floyd can figure out what the problem is, you will love it BWB I stayed up way too late chatting with Warren, Floyd, Big Maude & Ro I can see Sarah becoming something addicting, but a good kind. I best get to bed, have a big day ahead of me tomorrow. We have had another case of animal cruelty/neglect here in our area, police took 120 dogs & 25 cats from a house here & the poor little dogs are in bad shape, Poodles, Maltese, Pomeranians & Chihuahuas. I am going to groom some of them for the Animal Control tomorrow, all the other groomers want to charge them for it & that is just selfish. So I am offering to groom them for free, my way of contributing to the community. I'll let you know more tomorrow. Here is the story if you want to watch it & see what I have to groom NewsCast Hope that works, it's the webcast.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41503: Just popped in to say hey to everyone. Prayers for those who need them - Boo, Lucy, Millie, Romeena (safe trip), and the rest of you all.

Ethel Page had the Organ Recital on YLRB out of Mount Pilot if I remember right (from the Pot'O Honey Restaurant or something like that).

22 days and counting til my due date. Glad we're getting a respite from the 90 degree weather, now if we could just get a little rain things would be great.

Well, just wanted to check in. Gonna sign off and head to bed. Talk to you all later.
AFD

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41504: I am so glad that most of you have forgiven me. I send my love and prayers to everyone. Goodnight, don't let the bed bugs bite!!! I hate to hear about that Animal case. Night all.

June 26, 2006 - Msg 41505: Ellen Brown, of course, Floyd. I knew that too. My mind is getting to be a sort of slow, scary place. Ellen Brown--we used to have a porchster by that name from near St. Louis I believe. Wonder what' happened to her. Also makes me think of Mary Wiggins--what's happened to her?
Charlotte Tucker

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41506: Well, I don't know if you are still up BWB and I don't know if you are asking my forgiveness or not but I am personally glad you came back to try again. I over-reacted last night. Even though I was right about your being dishonest, I was unkind in the way I went about telling you and for that I apologize. I don't want to hurt you. I hope you can continue to be yourself. I am sure it will be just fine if you do. I heard something today about truth. Truth is powerful and if you seek it and embrace it, it can do more for you than you can even imagine. Don't be afraid to be yourself here. No hard feelings on my part, hope there are none on yours.

Thank you Lucy for your kind words of understanding. Today was a very emotional day for me. I had a couple of good crys. My husband and I met with the parents of the boy and the mom of the little girl who was abused and it was really tough. We all prayed together and asked God to be in control of all that happens. It was very emotional and I am having a hard time letting go and trusting God with it. I have had a couple of good crys today and just felt pretty mentally exhausted. Its just a tough time for me and I thank you all for being understanding. Sometimes I think I'm going to go ahead and just "lose it". It just seems like I have so many people depending on me. Thank you for your prayers and for listening. I don't want to dump on you but I always appreciate the kind words of encouragement and the prayers are priceless.

Warren, I'm not judging you for not going to church.

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41507: Gosh, I sure wish I could get on that chat room..I think i will get hubby to help me tomorrow. I get this feeling that there is a party going on over at Sarah's and I am missing out on it!

Boo

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41508: That's the same feeling that I got, for about an hour when only 2 people stopped by. When they all came back, they went right to bed. Must have been some party-Huh Boo???LOL!!!

No hard feelings to you, and I thank God that you forgave me. That was my only concern, and I don't know, and if so, I do understand, but I had this feeling that the un-signed message this afternoon was you. I hope that you now trust me. God Bless, and I'm praying for not only everyone here, I'm praying for your situatuion, too. Thank you so much.

Goodnight for good!!!LOL!!!

Barnwannabe.

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41509: Oh I almost forgot, I wanted to share something funny with you BWB. When I first started coming to the porch several years ago, I didn't understand how things worked and I was a bit skiddish about giving out any personal info, too. I had just gotten my first computer and had no clue about how things worked. Anyway, when I first started posting I pretended to be a man! I was a man for a few weeks until I figured out how the porch worked and then I had to "come out" and confess that I was a girl. When I go back and read the archives about it now, it is hilarious. Just wanted to share that...

Boo

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41510: No, I never send unsigned messages unless they are funny (and that is rare). Thanks for you prayers and goodnight, BWB.

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41511: Goodnight Boo. Hey all, The ep. where Barn is reading the head to feet poem is "The Graet Filling Station Robbery" Just thought I'd let you know. Boo, you were a man, I was a judge, we are some funny people. LOL!!! That's kinda cool, to see that it wasn't just me. BWB

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41512: Hmmmmmmmmm........I'm new here. well, not exactly new. But things have changed a lot since I used to haunt Miss Crump's Blackboard, oh-so long ago. I thought I'd check in and see what was going on with TAGS. Well, After reading the last few day's archives I see there has been a bit of drama. I’m not sure how long I’ll be hanging around but I might as well introduce myself and throw a slew of person opinions around. Bear in mind none of them are meant to be judgmental.

My name is Tommy, I live in middle Tennessee. As to my age, well, I am ancient. If you use world weariness and pure and unadulterated cynicism as a form of carbon dating the soul, I'm about 7000. If you go merely by the measurement of duration on the Gregorian Calendar, then I just recently turned 43.

I use the username mental_nomad. I know it isn’t a Mayberry handle but it is the one I’ve been using on every forum, every chat room and every messenger service for the last 7 years or so.

I am unemployable. I’m what you’d consider a worthless dreg of society. But as rotten as I am, I endeavor to be as decent of a human being as I possibly can. While being well aware of my limitations and shortcomings. Last job I had was several years ago. Was a peer counselor at a mental health drop-in center for 2 years. (emphasis on peer lol) About the best thing you could say about me is in the end it is carrion regardless.

Why am I telling ya’ll this? When I surely doubt you could care less? Well, because I’m an online anomaly. I’m upfront and honest as I can be about who I am and what I’m about. I find in the long run it saves me one heck of a lot of effort. Besides, I like being open and honest online. It shocks people. Grin.

Now, I have a personal message to Boo. With all due respect. I’m not privy to all the details of the problem you, and others in your life, are going through. Naturally you have my empathy. But you come here a lot, you needed to talk. To express. To vent. To connect with other human beings during a bad time in your life. You do not know me from Adam. I’m no great shakes at offering assistance, especially in light of A) I’m a total stranger to you, and B) I’m dim as a penny candle. But there it is. You want to talk, I’ll do my best. Sometimes talking to an interested 3rd party can help. I will not be offended if you decide to just ignore me. Heck, it’d be the “right” thing to do. Statistically speaking that is.

Now, is anything I’ve said out of place? If so, you have my unreserved apologies.

YMOS
Tommy

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41513: BTW, anyone have a HTML tag code for the forum?

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41514: I'm not sure what an "HTML tag code" is?

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41515: Morning porch family, I sure had a swell time over at Sarah's last night. Floyd, Romeena, Mavis and Warren are a hoot. Hope everyone enjoyed breakfast. Lunch will be: ham sandwiches, chips, pickles and tea. Dinner will be at Millies new resturant, so lets all show up and give her a big Howdy. Boo, glad to see you, take care and see you for lunch. Mavis, I will be thinking about you as you go to groom those dogs today. I know that will be a lot of work but I am sure you will get a blessing from it. Gotta get started on my work day. Big Maude.

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41516: Mornin' Y'all! I see MDC has put an APB out for me,so thought I'd check in. I've been reading, not feeling much like jumping into the moulage of late. Seems like things are gonna work out fine though.
My two cent's worth: Everyone is welcome here, nobody has to be a big shot-we care about you regardless. We don't have to know your personal details, life story, etc. if you don't want to tell us something, keep it to yourself. If you have troubles,we'll listen and support you. If you want to just come on the Porch for a good time,we'll hang out with you. That's my take on things anyway.
Gotta go. Need to make an appointment before Asa whacks me upside the head! Ha! Thanks for your concern,Asa. I'm gonna take care of myself-don't worry!
Catch y'all later. Love to all!
P.S. Hugs for Boo! ((((((((BOO)))))))

YMOS, talk about honest! I like that. Hope you hang around. Thanks for offering to be a listening ear. You may be all the things you listed above but you are kind to offer an honest opinion. Thanks.

Well, should get on with the day ahead. The laundry is piling up and chores are behind due to VBS last week. Mother's work is never done, right girls?

How about a report about the chatroom activities last night?

June 27, 2006 - Msg 41518: Morning Porch! I sure did have a blast at Sarah's last night, ya'll come on over! Boo my thoughts are with you, please know someone is here for you. Don't take this the wrong way, but honey, you GOTTA let some of that stuff go. I'm telling you, I have dealt with so much stuff since Mom passed away & it will bring you down, mentally & physically. Some things you can't change, no matter how much you want to & worrying over them will only make you sick. Take it from someone who knows. I finally gave all my problems with my sister, Mom's estate, and the rest of the family over to the Good Lord completely & I feel like 1000 pounds has been lifted off me. I am even putting some of my weight back on, I'm up to 110 now!! My preacher told me to pray to the Lord for help & ask Him to change things, BUT he also told me, "The Lord will listen to what you have to say, but He will do what He sees best." Anyway, hope to get to Sarah's tonight & see more faces. Gotta get some puppies done in this rainy weather. See ya'll later. Hey to Big Maude stay dry if you can. & Hey to everyone else! Oh & a great big WELCOME to Tommy!
