Ok guys, remember actress RUTA LEE??? (How could we forget, haha :-)
What two eps of tags did she guest star in?
Hint, one was BW and one was color!
MDC

February 01, 2006 - Msg 33435: Hey, MDC: Ruta Lee played Miss Darlene Mason when the Taylor's went to Hollywood (can't remember the exact name of the color episode), and was that "college kid," actually a reporter, sent by a publisher hauled in by Andy in the second season's "Andy on Trial."

Do I win some Miracle Salve?

February 01, 2006 - Msg 33436: Can I guess MDC? I think he color episode was when she played Darlene Mason when they went to Hollywood.
But you got me on the black/white episode.
I was watching episode 139 The Darling Baby, and I forgot how good Charlene could sing. She did that song "There is a Time", and the Darling boys did "Ebo Walker was a mighty fine fiddle player" That one made Briscoe cry! teehee
BTW, in that episode, you can see very clearly several times the painting above the fireplace.
It is quite well known by Jean Francis Millet, t1tled "The Angelus" depicting two people PRAYING in a field. I understand that it was Andy's idea to have that painting there! Good ole Andy! Wish we could see more of that today.
Well, you all have a nice mayberry-happy day.

February 01, 2006 - Msg 33443: Uh... so am I a honey or a dear, MDC. ;)

I have a question for Charlotte Tucker, since you are an editor. Or for anyone for that matter who might have a suggestion. Do you have any suggestions as to where I might send a short story for publication? I'd categorize it as juvenile fiction(with maybe a little sci-fi/fantasy thrown in), ages 10-18 probably, but I think anyone could read it, really. I've been concentrating on more children's style stories lately, but I try to just write how I write and not talk down to kids, meaning I will use BIG words where they fit in ;).
It has almost 5000 words, which is big for a picture book but small for anything else, even though I envision it having pictures with it.
I've been looking through my 2000 edition of Writer's Market, but half the publishers that look promising, when I look them up on the internet, have either gone out of business; don't accept unsolicited m@nuscripts anymore; or charge "reading fees", etc.
So if you have any suggestions, or advice, I'd be willing to listen.

Have a great day all!

MAYBERRY DEPUTY

February 01, 2006 - Msg 33445: Howdy, all. The Plum is home, doing just fine. The expected 3-inch incision is really just an inch long, very neat and should heal nicely. Her little hip is shaved bare, of course, and looks pretty pitiful, but the hair will grow out. She seems to feel okay, sleeping a lot, but walks normally and ate a little bit. Tail a little droopy, but not too bad. Thanks to all for prayers and good wishes.

Rev Jr, after I dropped Plum off at the vet this morning, I picked up a sausage-egg-McMuffin and brought it home. It seemed like it needed something, so I put some of your barbecue sauce (red label) on it. Let me tell you, it didn't hurt that sandwich one bit! Really livened it up and made it much better. I'll probably be needing more before long.

Buckeye, it would take me a week to locate your snail mail address in the archives. Actually, I don't really need yours, but you need mine, so you can send me the pictures. I share your reluctance to post street addresses here, or anywhere else that's too public, for that matter. Of course, most of us are in a phone book somewhere, so guess it really doesn't matter. If you'll give me your email address, I'll send you my snail address so you can mail the pictures. I know everyone would love to see them.

There are a lot of you out there who need to send me pictures, and please include your pets. In the album, there's a sub-album for Porchsters' Pets. Spot is working on sending me pictures of Otis and Shadow, and I'd love to see Asa's little Barney. Come on, y'all. Get those pictures in, don't be shy. We all are just who we are, no more and no less. A TAGS family, warts and all. If I was willing to put my own scary pictures on there, then what does anyone else have to be shy about??

Well, guess I'll go cuddle little Plum. She's feeling a tiny bit sorry for herself right now. Have a great evening! --Romeena

February 01, 2006 - Msg 33454:

Hey Folks,

Ro- Tell the plum I say hey!

I noticed in the archives that '77 was mentioned. In this area in 1977 we had a major blizzard. It's anniversary was this past weekend. Schools were closed for a couple of weeks. I think about 30 maybe 35 people died, it was just plain awful. The National Guard had to drop food into these rural area's. My most vivid memory, being 16 at the time, is of playing hockey under the stop light in the middle of main street. The road was closed for days but they had to keep it plowed. This no exaggeration but the snow actually drifted over the tops of the telephone poles. Many mobile homes and small house had to be dug out. Yikes, didn't mean to ramble.

Mayberry Deputy-Wow, only 17 more days until the 500. Hey, was that a robin?

Well, have to head over to e-bay before I fall asleep. My daughter's birthday is a coming.

God Bless,

I was doing some concerts out west some times back and just happened to flip on the TV and one of the boys was on The Jim Bakker Show in Branson. He was kinda like a regular side-kick to Bakker each day. I'm pretty sure it was Rodney.

Fred Goss...Do you travel all over the country? What company do you drive for? While out on the road I met a trucking pastor the has one of those trailer chapels (I think he said it was up around the Chattanooga area).

Everyone have a great night and know that God never sleeps....THANK YOU LORD!!

It was just built up like a really dangerous virus and that it probably had infected like, 300,000 computers or something, but I haven't heard of anyone who had any problems with it. Just wondering.

Hey here's an idea. How about posting some links to different sites in our hometowns or those close by? Maybe, with some stores or business' with web cams. It could be fun to check-out area's and match them to the names. No, personnel sites to protect privacy. I don't know. Just a pondering this morning I guess.

Put a hat on if ya wander down this end of the porch today. They are saying we might get about 8 inches snow. However, "they" have been wrong before.

Me-They, I have those same recollections have of my Mom making kraut. You don't suppose they had the same recipe, ha ha. Actually, I think to make a good batch of kraut it does smell as though something has gone horribly wrong.

The porch has influenced the dinner menu here today, ribs with BBQ sauce on a bed of, yes you guessed it, KRAUT.

ky girl- Great news about your son,God Bless him!

Chuck- If ya head back to the store today I'll go. An ice cold coke in a glass bottle sounds great.
