June 22, 2003 - Msg 14358: Mornin' Possum. Thanks for the pancakes, they are a special treat!

Just enjoyin' my morning coffee this morning and a few minutes of peace before getting the tribe ready for Sunday School.

I have a special prayer request today for my son (he is eight), if you would all be so kind. He has been having such a tough time with his Tourette Syndrome. It is getting to be very hard for him. Last night he cried himself to sleep because he couldn't stop the jerking movements and kept biting his tongue. It is so hard as his mother to watch. Please pray that God would heal him or that I would find a way to help him. There are so many avenues to try (nutrition, herbs, amino acids, etc.). I really don't know where to begin.

Thanks, friends.

Boo

June 22, 2003 - Msg 14359: Morning porch pals.
Prayers for your son Boo. That must be a diificult thing to deal with. Prayers for you to dear.
So what's everyone having for sunday dinner today? Is sunday dinner a big deal for y'all? It is at our house. Seem's like it's the only time we can all sit together as a family any more for a meal. To durn busy during the week it seems. So sunday dinners are real nice at our abode.
Hope everyone is having a peacefull and restfull sabbath.
Thanks for the pancakes Possum. They was good. Your pretty handy to have around. LOL
Guess I better go get ready for preachin. Anyone seen my tie?

June 22, 2003 - Msg 14361: Jimmy the Goat needs some help. I'm back and I could use some prayers...not for me, but for a really good friend of mine, who I'm worried about.
I won't go into details, but I have a friend I haven't heard from now in a while. No reply to email, and I can't find the darn phone number, so I can't call, and like I said I'm really concerned. I have no idea whats happened. See, I take my frienships very seriously, and there isn't anything I wouldnt do for them. Now it could be this person has just decided they don't want to continue being friends. Who knows. Everyone looks at friendship differently I guess. Sometimes people who say they're your friends aren't, and sometimes people you'd never think of as a friend can turn out to be the best friend you ever had.

So I'm asking all you good folks out there to pray for the health, safety and well being of this friend of mine. Thanks...Jimmy Goat

June 22, 2003 - Msg 14362: Hey back to Romeena and Asa and all the porch folks! Good to see new people posting...hey to Jimmy the Goat. Maybe you're not new and it's just been too long since I've been here. Another beautiful day here in SW VA..we've had nothing but rain for over a month now. Everybody complains about the weather but nobody does anything about it...know who said that?

June 22, 2003 - Msg 14363: Hi, thanks, Asa. It is hard but somehow not as hard as you would imagine (God's grace, I guess). He finally fell asleep last night and was better this morning, still some tics (that's what we call the jerking and vocal outbursts) but much less than last night. He didn't want to go to Sunday School this morning, though because he said he is tired of kids asking him why he does the things he does. He said, "I just want everyone to leave me alone". Poor little guy is young to have to deal with something like this.

To answer your question: I made lunch today. I tried a new recipe made with ground beef, spaghetti sauce and macaroni and cheese. It turned out pretty good--kind of like lasagna but easier. We also had garlic bread and cantaloupe. Yum. We really like cantaloupe around here. I am like you; I like to fix lunch on Sunday after church, then I like to sit on the front porch and talk about going down to the drugstore for some ice cream, or maybe going to Thelma Lou's to watch TV......

I watched a really good movie called The Edge, with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin, about a couple of fellows trying to survive in the Canadian wilderness (with BIG Kodiak bears). It was very exciting and had a moral message, too. Have any of you seen it? It came out several years ago.

Well, I think I'll go clean the kitchen and do some laundry (Mom never gets to rest on sunday, does she?).

Boo

June 22, 2003 - Msg 14364: Boo, if she does, she pays for it on Monday! I've added your young'un to my prayer list. Tourette's syndrome is such a mysterious thing, and has to be so difficult for the whole family, especially when the patient is a child.

TOM, thank you, dear. I appreciate your kind words, and I do remember that you just lost your daddy, too. Prayers for you, friend.

I cooked Sunday dinner today, out at my son and daughter-in-law's house. We made fried steak and gravy, and buttered noodles, corn, green beans, and hot rolls. Pretty good doin's. My DIL is pretty sneaky. :>) She always says she wants me to "show her how" to cook something, when actually she's a good cook. I think she just enjoys getting a reprieve from cooking, and I don't blame her. She has my 2yr old grandson to chase, and he's a handful, and she's got another one coming. Bless her little heart! Sometimes they come here, sometimes I go out there. It's easier out there with the little 2 yr old, because he can play in his room, take a nap, or play in the back yard. My back yard is down to one old tire swing, and his back yard has a veritable playground, thanks to his dad.

Well, my brother and I will be seeing the lawyer in the morning to get the legalities started regarding my dad's estate. Shouldn't be a problem, Daddy had things set up pretty well, but there's always some paperwork to do. Nothing to do but plow through it.

Everyone have a great evening. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

June 22, 2003 - Msg 14365: Thanks for putting Sean on your prayer list, Ro. I appreciate it more than I can say. Watching your children suffer in any way is so hard.

Sounds like you made a great lunch! I have never had buttered noodles. Do you just add butter or is there any other ingredients, like salt or pepper?

The kids are watching Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory right now, which is one of my all-time favorites! I remember seeing it at the movies when it first came out.

Ro, I wanted to tell you that I am going to San Antonio on Thursday and then to the Schlitterbahn on Friday! Yipee! I can't wait. My little boy has never been. I am just trying to decide whether I should take my toddler or leave her at home with my sister....it's tempting. I might also be making a short trip to Blanco to let the kids swim there. Have you ever been to the state park there? It's a nice place for kids and the last time we were there we took a drive just outside of town in the eveing just before sunset and we saw some beautiful scenery. We put the windows down and just took it all in. Saw lots of deer.

Well, this post was longer than I expected. Sorry!
Ya'll have a nice evening.

Boo

ps-Ro, have you ever eaten at the Alamo Cafe (it serves Mexican food)? It is a great place to eat in San Antonio. Adios...

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14366: Hey friends, just wanted to give a quick update, my frynd Neal died tonight about 7. He was 78 and just like another Dad to me. Please remember his family in your prayers. He had 6 daughters a host of grandkids and great grand kids. What with the pneumonia and had found a tumor protruding out of his lungs into his airways. At last he has his healing now. Remember his family and his church family too. Thanks guys love ya's all. Salty Dog

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14367: That's sad about your son, Boo. Being a kid is hard enough without something to make him feel "different" from the other kids. I feel for him, and for you too, and how helpless you can feel. I hope God gives your son the strength to see beyond physical limitations, and you the strength to be strong for him!
On a less serious note, what's a Schlitterbahn? And is it catching?:)
I hope you all have a good time in San Antonio!

I hope you find your friend, Jimmy the Goat!

Romeena, that Sunday dinner you had makes me hungry just reading about it!
How are you doing anyway? Good, I hope!
-Sterling Holobyte

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14368: Thank you, Sterling, for being so kind and concerned (you're a gem!).

Ha! Schlitterbahn is not a disease, it's this really great water park in a place called New Braunfels (near San Antonio) and it is on the Guadalupe river. It is the most fun a person can have and stay legal. It has all kinds of tube shoots and rapids and water slides...great stuff! I highly reccomend it if you are ever in this part of Texas.

Well, I think I will head off to bed. I have a mountain of laundry to conquer and have to take my dad to the dr tomorrow. Later, friends!

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14369: PS-so sorry about your loss, Salty. Prayers for you and your friend's family.

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14370: Hey friends,
Just checking in with a report on the David Cassidy show. He was good and on some of the old songs, he sounded like he was 20 again. Looks just like his dear departed dad. If he was blonde the resemblance would be amazing. His sound and tone are more mature, but he can at moments, still sound like the David we knew and loved many years ago. But folks, I think he has grown a little conceited as the years have gone by. No doubt he is still talented, but just comes across as someone who really loves himself. Of course with all the foolish women standing at the edge of the stage reaching their hands up and just hoping to touch him, you can't really blame him. These women were total idiots. Screaming and carrying on like they were still 16 years old. Personally I prefer the company of the wonderful man I was sitting next to. He is all of a dream that I could ever ask for. Guess I am a very lucky woman.

After the show we went to the casino for a few minutes. I put some money in the slot machine and won 71 dollars within 10 minutes and fungi won 41 dollars in the same amount of time. So we ended up winning enough to pay for the tickets and gas and a nice dinner out. We quit while we were ahead. Made the evening even nicer.

Have a great week.

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14371: First, I wish to express my sympathies to those of you who've had losses. God be with you, and you're in my prayers.

I ask for your continued prayers for my friend who seems to have vanished. Now, as I said, maybe this individual just doesn't want to be friends anymore. Hope that ain't the case, but I miss talking to this person. At any rate, it's there safety and well being thats foremost in my mind. Thanks for your prayers.

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14375: Okay Fun Girl - I was definitely attracted to Potsie ( a little dorky but could he croon!), and Mickey Dolenz from the Monkeys - the curly haired guy, Peter from the Brady Bunch, Johnny Gage - what a dream. . .then!, Shaun Cassidy too! Oh what it was like to be young!

The wedding down south was nice. It was a little stuffy for me - everyone was in sequins, I liked the redneck wedding better! I guess, according to my niece, the reception ended early (9:30ish). In this area, it is just getting really started at 9:30. We left again before the cutting of the cake. My youngest just can't handle these places where you have to be good. So we went back to the hotel and I let them in the pool. We had it to ourselves for about 1 hour. It was great! We also went to Old Navy (a treat for me) and we bought our flag shirts for the 4th and they had boxers on sale so I loaded the boys up with boxers! Sorry Asa - none in your size! (Asa - I am so IMPRESSED with the Donny connection!)

Boo - I am so sorry for you and for your young son. I know that you would do anything to alleviate his pain. I know you have probably checked out numerous websites. I have been scouting some too. Take care!

Talk to ya'll later - it's gonna be hot one here!

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14376: Hey all...thanks for your prayers, but my friend just turned up this minute alive and well. Actually, Boo thats a good idea, and I wish I'd have thought of that few days ago. So, thanks for your prayers.

Boo, I'm so sorry to hear about your son. That is soo tragic. I'll keep my eyes open too, and if theres anything I can do to help, please contact me. I'm still waiting for you to email so I can send you pics of Mt.Airy. Tell your son to hang in there, and of course ya'll will be in my prayers.

Salty, I was really sorry to hear about your loss, and you and your friends family are in my prayers.
Jimmy the Goat-
PS: One day, all of us Front Porchsters are going to have to meet in person...sort of like a reunion. We could have it in Mt.Airy, and rent one of those big ol' houses.

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14377: Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers, Homemaker and Jimmy the G. You are such precious people, and yes, Homemaker, I have been searching the web for information and am trying to connect with some folks with TS.

Gotta go, baby girl is into something again!

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14378: I'm home friends! Got home last night, but was too pooped to type. Things went pretty well so far with Pat & Jake, just keep them in your prayers please. Mary Wiggens nope, don't have an understanding husband, (about the supportive ex-wife thing) I have a boyfriend who is not real happy about the situtation at all, causes alot of fights, but, all I can tell him is if I still wanted to be with Pat I wouldn't have divorced him. BUT.. no matter what, he is still Jake's dad & there will always be a bond there for that reason. Pat & I are better friends now than we ever were when we were married & I like it much better that way. I don't want Jake to grow up without a father, so I felt like as a mother it was my responsibility to do what I had to do to get Pat thru this time. I will continue to be there for him too when he needs me, I don't hate the man, altho I used to think I did. Anyway, welcome home Emma! email me! I got band schedule for you, we will be back in Hansonville & would love for you to come out. Talk to you soon, gotta get more stuff done. BTW- Thanks Ro for sharing the funeral with us, you are one special lady for sure! Anyone know where I can find a self-cleaning house?
*Mavis

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14379: Sorry make that Mary WiggIns must still be tired. LOL

June 23, 2003 - Msg 14380: Mavis, I have just one thing to say. Your boyfriend should appreciate the side of your nature that makes you feel some loyalty to your son's father, and makes you want to help him where you can. You'd be a pretty cold person if you didn't feel that way, and I wonder how the b.f. would like that? He needs to grow up and be a man himself. His insecurities are showing like a lace petticoat.

Prayers for all those who need them and again, I thank all of you for your kind wishes toward me. I'm doing fine. Physically, I'm very good, just a bit tired from all the running. Today we saw a lawyer, a banker and a CPA! All at different locations, naturally! I called in to work, just too tired to drag in there and try to stay awake all night. I hate to do that, not my style, but I don't think I'd have been a very safe nurse tonight.

Have a great evening, friends. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

With all this talk about t.v. men that did it for us, guess I'll chime in with mine, Sam Elliott! That man is some kind of purty to me!! He twangs my buds! haha, sorry, ya'll asked! Off to get some recipes copied, we are having a family rebellion in a month & I am doing a family recipe book for my aunt that works so hard putting this together every year. She never gets much appreciation for all she does for it, but this year she will. Gonna do it scrapbook style I think & I have emailed all the family on the west coast for contributions for it. June 23, 2003 - Msg 14387: Remember the Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot movie where they were brothers from the Civil War?

June 24, 2003 - Msg 14388: I loved Tom Selleck and also Patrick Swayze. Tom just after high school and then Patrick when I was in college the second time. And confess that I have always thought Sam Elliot to be so FINE!!
And the more rugged he looked, the better. I also thought that Julia Roberts' father in Steele Magnolias was pretty cute. Tom Skerrit, wasn't it?
Am I man crazy or what? While we were seeing David Cassidy, Kyle and his aunt went to see the move "The Incredible Hulk." They said it was great, but probably not appropriate for those of you who have younger children. I think at the age of 13 the grosser and scarrier, the better. LOL
G'night,

Haven't touched nothin' of Sam Elliot's though! Hee Hee Love that man's voice, don't y'all?

June 24, 2003 - Msg 14390: Hey to the porch folks! Mavis, I need your email address again so I can email you. Jimmy the Goat, do you live in Mt. Airy? That's one of my favorite towns. I go there every now and then just to spend a day. Lots of nice people live there. I've been to Mayberry Days for the past 6 years and the last time I was in Mt. Airy was for the Highway Dedication to Andy Griffith. Getting to see him was quite an emotional experience for me. Some of us who met years ago here on the Front Porch have stayed as a group together in Andy Griffith's homeplace (now a Bed & Breakfast) when we're down there for Mayberry Days. My "Mayberry" experience online has been wonderful over the past 6 years. I've made some wonderful friends here.

June 24, 2003 - Msg 14391: Welcome hom, Mavis, and howdy to all my friends on the porch.

I think you ladies need to stop thinkin' so much about the purty men.....ha. For some reason, I was just too serious to have crushes on celebrities as a kid, but I sure fell hard when I met my husband (lost all seriousness and sensibility). First time I saw him, I loved him and have everyday since. Funny thing; he was young, but had lost most of his hair. He is also deaf and wears hearing aids (not the Hollywood picture of handsome), but to me...he is a real purty man. He has always been built very well.

Well, I hear baby girl crying. Better go see about her (she just woke up).

Ya'll have a great day.

It is so hot here today you wouldn't believe it. Yesterday I mowed the lawn, edged and pruned my flower bushes and the heat index was about 100 degrees at 8pm. I am dreaming of Colorado but can't go any time soon.

Well, lots to do.....I bought some water shoes for my son (for the Schlitterbahn...) and they are too small, so back to Target to exchange them.

I want to try out the one down on the coast, too, where they have the waterway that floats you through the whole park and carries you to the different "rides". Check out their website.

Hillbilly Jilly, welcome to the porch. We're always glad to have a newcomer, just jump in and hang on. Folks around here are busy, but nice. Lots going on, some folks with problems and trials, but we all support one another and it works out well.

Gotta go back to work tonight - am tempted to call in, but after doing that last night, I guess I'd better go on and work tonight, so they don't forget I'm an employee! My situation is going to get easier, but I'll still need to work.

I thought it was last week, but I see it is today! I hope it is a great birthday!

Hey to Hillbilly Jilly! What a great name! I hope you come back and visit us often.

Mavis, keep up the good work being a good ex-wife and mother, I think in his heart of hearts your present husband knows you are doing the right thing, it might just be hard to be supportive of a woman who has to give attention to an ex, probably not considered too macho...

Boo, sorry to hear you can't go to the Schlitter thingy! (I think you know what I mean!) If those tickets are good until September you just may get another chance. How is your little guy doing? I don't know a thing about tourette's, I will be praying for Sean, however. You are doing a great job with your kids, it is evident how much you really love them!

Romeena, I hope the return to work wasn't too hard on you. Sometimes those routines are just what we need, though. My thoughts and prayers will be with you over these next few weeks. On a separate note, my husband recently finished a couple more paintings, and we cannot come up with a name for one of them. We were saying we should ask you to name it, because you always have such a wonderful way with words! It truly is a gift!

Well, I'm still working on my list of a million things to do, and a new one is figure out where I lost count! I hope everyone has a great Mayberry Day!

June 25, 2003 - Msg 14407: Hey, how about Orion (from the Orion's belt constellation), homemaker? I think it would make a nice name for a boy goat.

Had to take baby girl to the dr today. She has a bad viral infection and her tonsils are infected. Poor baby had 104+ temp today. She seems better tonight, though, and is eating now (Advil can work wonders). Ro, have you ever heard of a drug reaction (I forgot the name of it) that is very serious and actually causes the victim's skin to come off? I have heard that Mortin can cause it. It is very rare, of course, but usually fatal. I always think of it when I take Advil but try to reassure myself that it is very rare. I think, "should I be afraid of my skin falling off if I take Advil or should I be afraid of liver failure from all the Tylenol?!". Haha. I guess nothing is completely safe but you have to have some faith.

Well, I better go...I hear the little sick one calling. You know, being a full-time mother is a very hard job but it has great rewards, doesn't it?

Bye,
Boo

June 26, 2003 - Msg 14412: Depends on what color your underwear is!

June 26, 2003 - Msg 14413: Honestly! You all are just too funny. What with skin falling off, washing underwear, and I don't know what else, you keep me laughing.

Went with friends last night to see the last dress rehearsal for The Vocal Majority before they go to Canada today to compete in international compet-ition. They're a men's chorus of 150 voices, and if you've never heard them, you've missed something. They are absolutely incredible. A couple of my friends from church sing with them, so that's how I got to see the rehearsal. They should have charged admission. It was a wonderful show. If you ever get a chance to see them, do it.

homemaker, I think Boo's suggestion of Orion for the little goat is a good one. Cute name. However, Venus isn't bad either, and I think it can be a boy's name. Remember Venus Flytrap from "WKRP", that TV show about the radio station? I liked that show, by the way, wish they'd rerun it again.

Well, my son is on his way over to fix a couple of little things for me, so guess I'd better get moving. Still in my PJ's, of all things. Have a great day, friends. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

June 26, 2003 - Msg 14414: Who was talkin' about Sam Elliot the other day? Mavis, it was you I b'lieve. Ever see Conagher? Now there's a good western with a chick flick twist. He and his wife Katherine Ross star in it and of course, fall in love. The movie he and Tom Selleck were in was called The Shadow Riders. We have both those movies taped and watch them often. Well, need to work instead of chit chat (by the way, I don't hate chit chat!) My son watched Man in a Hurry this morning. "Sometimes she'll tell ya F when ya really got yerself a E."

Mary Wiggins, is there any way I could see those new paintings? Though I appreciate your kind words, I'm quite sure you and Pat can name them yourselves, but I'd love to see them. I just love Pat's work, and it may be that I'd have a place I'd want to put another print. Friends, let me tell you, this man has a major talent! I have three of his works now and when all my company was here during the week of Daddy's funeral, you should have heard the comments.

June 26, 2003 - Msg 14425: Hey, Asa! We were wondering where you were. Thought maybe homemaker's goats had eaten your underwear and you had to go buy more. I hear they were having a "drawer sale" over in Mount Pilot. I'm doing just fine, thanks for asking. This would be a much more difficult time if my dear little dad hadn't been so well-prepared, and so eager to go on to the next life. I miss him, of course, but would never want to have him back in the condition he was in.

By the way, I told my unit manager today that I'd be dropping one shift a week. That in itself would make my dad very happy if he knew it. He used to take great pleasure in thinking how I'd have to work less when he was gone. With the income from some rental property he left me, I can work less and still come out with more net money than I've been used to. My dad was a good hand with money, my brother and I are reaping the benefits from his forethought, and I'm very grateful.

Well, am a bit tired. I think I'll turn in. The Plum has nudged me several times and walked toward the bedroom, I think she has the same idea. Lazy little lout, all she's done today is sleep and bark at the mailman, don't know why she's so tired. (teehee) She's a good cuddler, though, so it's okay. Have a great day tomorrow, friends. But he's sort of an ornery old cuss in that one, kinda got the greasy hair, messy look too. Things on my porch haven't been too bad lately, but as soon as I say that we'll have a blowup. I just take one day at a time and mostly walk on eggshells. Yes, I did miss you, Ellen Brown, don't stay away so long next time. Sorry to hear about your grandma. "We're no spring chickens anymore." And you, Asa, ought not be so busy. What's your hurry? Maybe you need to go to a band concert in the park. I'm sorry I'm late, but HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, Fun Girl and Bulbsnatcher! Hope you both had great days! I know Fun Girl did, she was busy drooling over David Cassidy. I need to look at the archives...Fun Girl, did you ever answer my claim to being engaged to DC? I know some others did, but I'm not sure you did. I'll go back and take a look.

More exrays today. I swear that pretty soon, I will glow in the dark when you turn the lights off. But rather be safe than sorry I reckon. After the exrays had been taken, the tech asked me if I had injured myself or anything. I explained about the car accident. June 27, 2003 - Msg 14435: Pour some gas on a tire and watch it burn?? Briscoe, I think you need to get out more. I'm with you on the firefly-catching, though, if you can find some. We'll let them go, of course.

I've been kicking around the idea of building a raised flowerbed in my back yard, around ten feet in diameter, and stepping up in terraced layers to about 2 feet in height. I want to use the Windsor landscaping stones, and just make little sections where I can plant different things side by side. I had thought I'd do it myself, but as I look over the literature about it, I've decided to "call the man". Those stones are heavy!! So, I have Mr. Wheeler coming out Wednesday morning to talk about it.

Howdy, Olive! Long time, no see. Where have you been? Haven't seen you around the diner lately, you didn't sign on as a brine-taster at the pickle factory, did you? I was thinking I might do that part time, if I cut back on my hours at the hospital.

Well, guess I'll rustle up something to eat. The Plum is hungry, too, guess I'd better feed us both. You all have a great evening. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

June 27, 2003 - Msg 14437: Hey porch friends, sorry I aint been around much, been a rough week on my porch. Went to the funeral home Tuesday night. It was very sweet, and the funeral was also. It still hurts letting him go, but I realize now that he is so much better off. And to top that, most of you know I am a volunteer fire fighter/EMT. Well Wednesday morning, someone spray painted the entire front of our building, 4 bay doors, the main door, plus the concrete blocks in between with some very vulgar sayings about our cheifs wife. The letters were about three feet big, and it took most of the day sanding and priming and re painting to get it all off. I dont know what gets into people sometimes. This girl isn't even on the department. She had caught her sister with another man the day before and had threatened to tell her husband, she didn't.. but threatened it. Then Wed morning it was all over our building. So.. I've been on the phone with the insurance company ever since tryin to get stuff worked out. We know who it was that did it, but of course there was no evidence. Not enough to arrest him anyways. I just dont know what gets into people sometimes. Even if they were upset with the cheifs wife.. why take it out on the fire dept? We didnt' do anything. The community as a whole is highly upset over this. And probably will be for days to come. We are a very small rural community of about 400 people. And everybody knows everybody else so stuff like this really gets around. OK.. I'm off my soap box for the night. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I'm heading for the ironing board now. Good night friends love ya's all --Salty Dog

Got to get a few things done , need to go to Petersburg to see my Aunt who is up from Connersville then get home for church tonight. For all those who have been praying for me and my Granddaughters in the past, I want to thank you and say God bless y'all things are beginning to work out great after 8 yrs of the mom and step dad talking down to me canceling out on me at the last min. or not showing up at all they we're so sweet and very respectful of me yesterday, the girls and I rode rodes together and Pierre rode rides with them and we ate talk walked til we wore ourselfs out. Pierre and their step dad watch the mud trucks and the girls, myself and their mother went back to the rides and had a blast, we closed the place down. LOL I learn only to often that it is in Gods perfect timing not mine, They have invited us to come to their house someday for a dinner and they may bring the girls to our house soon and they said that they we're going to let the girls see their Daddy soon, I call him today to let him know, it is going to thrill him so. The girls and their mother were his life, when she left it all but killed him and came close to that, but praise God my endurance and faith in God and everyones prayers have payed off, and one thing that the mother did, when she left us I ask her to please keep the girls in church and her and her husband has, it's that wonderful, they all attend together. Enough of this, I just wanted y'all to know it was wonderful, the weather was perfect and the visit was perfect, God is awesome. Now my middle Granddaughter is in Ga. with her Daddy and loving every min. of it, I miss her so for we have her every other weekend and we wont this summer and I sure miss her. we go down the last of July to see them. can't wait. Thank you Des (I tried the s thing but it didn't work for me) for your concerns for my daughter. She is well now and I am sick. I ended up going to San Antonio just overnight, but not to the Schlitterbahn. I did take my son to Blano to the river for a swim and on my way back to Corpus Christ, I started feeling really achy. Whew, it has been a tough few days with lots of aches, chills and a very sore throat. I am feeling much better now, though. I could really relate to Andy on the TAGS episode last night. While he was in bed with the flu, I was on the couch with the flu. It is also very hard to get any rest around here with the kids but my husband did alot and now appreciates me even more.

Ro, I am very happy to hear that you will be working less. I know how hard your job is and you deserve some time for yourself.

Well, I think I will make my way back to the couch for a little rest. The Donny and Marie story is coming on in a few minutes (are you girls watching it??).
