Good evening. Good sweep Boo, thanks. The porch looks real nice! :) I hope all is OK with you and yours, and that you are not being drawn in too many directions
at once. :)
RO--that is great that Jerry is learning a trade. HVAC guys around here can easily earn 80K a year! I bet in Frankie's area too where those summers can get a might hot. Around here, a residential AC unit only lasts about 12 years (on average.)
Is your grandson playing the bassoon again this year?
Well gang, high school football is back! There is a high school about a half mile from us, and if I walk outside, I can hear the cheering and the bands. Teams here employ those
big sideline swamp coolers to keep the players somewhat cool.
ASA--so nice that you don't have to listen to the 'whiners' this time of year,
with the too hot, too cold comments! :)
BTW to all, As I was watching Wagon Train today, it ended with a lady playing the doxology on the organ, ending with ..."Praise Father. Son, and Holy Ghost."
Wow, when's the last time we heard that on a TV series!
Boy, those pioneer women were a special breed for sure!
BTW, during our upcoming Yellowstone vacation we are going to the Grand Tetons,
and whilst there we are going on a wagon train ride. It is only for a few miles, but it shows us what the western settlers went thru. It then ends with a dutch oven chicken dinner. Here's the site:

Looks like a fun trip MDC. I have spent some time studying pioneer history. Those were some tough folks I'd say. The Donner/Reed party was a very interesting story with a very sad ending.
And it has been nice to have a summer of no whiners. And this is the time of year they usually really kick in. Last weekend we had a cool front move in and brought the temps down into the mid 70's for a couple of days. This weekend we are back to triple digits, and that's when they would usually crank it up. And wouldn't you know it, I was saying in my last post how they don't use the word "moulage" in Perry Mason. Well last night they had a casting of a tire print they showed in court, and wouldn't you know it, Tragg called it a moulage. I am also noticing some TAGS folks as semi regulars in PM. John Masters as a court clerk quite often. And sometimes as a police CSI type, a role he played a lot in Dragnet. I also see Wally (the skinny one who about rocked over Mr. Tuckers foot). He also is a police ballistics expert with some frequency. Seems like there are a couple of more but my mind is blank right now. I have not seen Mr. Schwaump though.
Well I hope and pray all have a safe Labor day weekend. Prayers for all in the path of Dorian. My oldest Daughter, Sarah lives in the Tampa area now. So I hope the Gulf coast side will not be affected to terrible.

GF-good clip, it has been years since I saw that film! I'll have to practice, but being from the west, I've got a pretty good 'howdy pard'ner" for starters. :)
ALL-- btw, in case you think that I just sit around and watch westerns all day, I usually see Wagon Train at the fitness center. They have two screens going with Me-Tv! The treadmill time goes by quickly. ha
ASA--funny about PM and moulage. I hope Tragg didnt make too big of a moulage out of it! I've seen many a tags folks on that show too, (one time Helen!)and as you say, the smoking, wow!
God bless,

Whoooeeee! Maudie, that supper sure sounds good, especially the key lime pound cake. Is that really a thing? Can I get the recipe? I love key lime anything!
David came by today, picked me up and took me to lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant. No way could I eat it all, so I have my supper in the fridge now! From there, he took me to the Sprint phone store, and replaced my very old Galaxy Note 4, which had just 32 GB, and was almost full. It kept giving me little warnings. He bought me a Galaxy Note 10+, which has 256GB, and I won't fill that up in my lifetime. I tell you, that boy was worth all the 55 minutes I spent getting him into the world. (From wake-up at home, wild ride to the hospital, and 20 minutes later he was here, it took 55 minutes. Talk about one scared daddy!)
Back to the phone, I think the learning curve is not going to be so bad. It does a lot of things my old one doesn't, but a lot of those things I would never use anyway. The things I will use are really updated and fun, the picture gallery is organized by date, instead of just all thrown in together, and I like that. The display is now LED, so images won't "burn in" on the screen. When my old phone is off, you can clearly see the imprint of the solitaire (Free Cell) game I play a lot. The battery is much more powerful, charges in half an hour and can last for days for someone like me. My old phone would run out by the end of a day. Anyway, phone-wise, I think I'm all set.
Guess I'll go warm up my Pad Thai noodles and a couple of egg rolls. Yum! Blessings, friends. --Romeena

Maude, that supper sounds great. I meant to grab the fixins I need to make a slaw when I went to the store and forgot. I have been craving a good cole slaw. One of the few things I can put together that is really good. At least good for me. No one else in my family likes slaw period, so I only have to make me happy. :) I like mine extra tangy.
Glad it has cooled down for you Frankie. I am looking forward to some cooler temps here so I can start using my oven again. I don't think I have used it all summer. And I am looking forward to some chili and soups again.

Just a quick hit and run, I've got to meet Eloise and Jerry and go with them to meet David and Brittney for Hudson's birthday.
Asa, if you like tangy slaw (so do I) here's a tip I learned from the cook in a Thai restaurant. Grate a green mango or green papaya into it! Seriously, it's wonderful. I love ripe mangoes, maybe my favorite fruit, and when they're too green, they aren't good to eat alone, but blended into a good basic slaw, they're so good! I will eat ripe papaya, but it's not my favorite. However, again like the mango, when it's still green and added to a slaw, it's very good. Try it sometime! --Romeena

Wow, that is going to be fun, MDC!! I have never been to Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons but would love to see them.
Asa, things have improved on the job since the new boss and the rented air conditioner/compressor or whatever you call it. They had to rent this gigantic piece of machinery that looks like a big truck and it cools the place somehow. I know it is costing a fortune. As far as buyers, they still haven't told us a thing so there may not even be any. Our census is sitting at 26 right now and we used to average in the 90s.
I worked tonight and had to send a kid by ambulance to the ER with a head injury. Not fun.
Asa, I don't know what in tarnation is happening in the state of Texas but I feel like cutting me a switch and whippin' a lot of young men who need to act like somebody! I've had it with the shootings!

Boo, good to hear from you. I thought your place had been bought out already. Sounds like just a new boss. At least they got the a/c working for you all, although it sounds very temporary. All those problems in Texas, and it all probably started because somewhere down there, a Texas lawman allowed a little old lady to jay walk. I'm sorry. I shouldn't make lite of it all. It is just so crazy how this is happening with such regularity anymore though.
That was a beautiful prayer MDC, and for sure is needed. We do need to turn back TO God and not turn our backs ON God. So many folks missing from the Porch. PH, Sterling, John Masters. Auh2o, Hazel N.N. Salty Dog, Mavis, Homemaker, Fun Girl to name a few. Oh well, folks move on I reckon.
Romeena, Thanks for the slaw advice. I will give that a try. You wanna hear a sad story. Friday when I went grocery shopping, I picked up a package of two nice pork chops. I thought I'd have one for Sunday supper and the other on Monday. So yesterday I had my taters on boiling (gotta have mashed taters with pork chops). I opened up the package of chops, and got a whiff of rotting meat. Well even though the packages sell by date was yesterday, no way was I cooking this stuff. At least I had some frozen hamburger patties in the fridge, so I threw a couple of those in the pan. Made me an open faced burger with gravy and mashed taters. A far cry from those pork chops though.
MDC, There is an HVAC guy on you tube I follow a bit. He's from New Yawk and has that New Yawk accent. Kind of funny to listen to.
My peaches are looking very close to picking. Boy howdy, I love fresh peaches. I need to go look up some cobbler recipes I reckon.

Good morning, porch, and Happy Labor Day! I trust that all are well and looking forward to a relaxing, happy day. I surely am!
Asa, good for you, for being willing to try that green mango/papaya idea in your slaw. That's adventure cookin'! I like that you're not afraid to try new things. I first tasted that in a Thai restaurant that I eat at fairly often, and it was so good, I finally asked the owner, who is a friend at church, and she told me what was in it. I was very surprised. Another hint I got from her was to put lemongrass in certain vegetable soups. It adds a tangy, citrus-y flavor and is very good. When I don't have any lemongrass (which is most of the time) I just squeeze a lemon into the soup and it's just as good, maybe even better. Progresso makes an Italian Wedding soup that's quite good just as it is, but that dash of lemon in it really wakes it up and makes it so much better.
Boo, you surely have had your ups and downs with that juvie hospital. I admire your determination and willingness to remain even though the conditions are ridiculous. Those kids need you!
As for the Midland/Odessa shootings, there just are no words to describe such a terrible thing. I do agree that a policy of denying any naming and publicity for the shooter is a step in the right direction, but it's not going to help much. However, neither is gun-grabbing. Drugs have been illegal for years, and the penalties can be high, but drugs are as plentiful on the streets as cigarettes. More strict background checks will help some, but that's still not the answer. I do agree that no one needs access to an automatic rifle. Hunters don't need one, no one really needs one except military and law enforcement, and even then, I wonder. I surely don't need one. If someone comes in this house, I don't need to be spraying bullets everywhere. I have my Judge, and one shot from that thing should be all I need. If not, fire again. I guarantee you I wouldn't miss twice. Besides, as a police officer friend said, "You'll never need to fire that thing. Just click that hammer back, and the sound will send him running out the door." That's probably true.
I worry about any restrictions on weapons, though. It's a slippery slope, there is a major faction in the US today that is aiming toward a socialist state, and one of the first goals is to disarm the population. It's going to be much harder than they think. I think in their little pink-sky world, all they have to do is outlaw the guns, and the problem is solved. They don't realize that will only foster an underground black market in weapons, because the criminals and the crazies are going to have guns, no matter what. They will kill to get them, if necessary, so the slope gets more slippery.
We don't need more laws, we just need to turn back to the original Law (God's Laws) and live accordingly. And -- we need to focus more attention on identifying those among us who need help, and providing it for them. Boo is doing her bit, with those troubled teens, but there are so many, children and adults, who are lost and confused and angry. There is where the changes need to be made. Faith and mental health, I believe, are first on the list of needs to fix America's problems.
Well, enough of that. Have a wonderful Labor Day, friends. --Romeena

Thanks Ro. As far as helping these kids, I heard from a staff member last night that she feels they aren't doing much to help them at the facility anymore because things have gotten so lax and accountability is not what it used to be. I don't know why that is unless management is so desperate for kids that they are willing to put up with more and everyone is walking around on eggshells. Anyway, we do what we can. We have had a lot of repeaters lately.
As far as guns go, I truly think Texas would secede before giving up their guns! lol
Today is my 25th wedding anniversary but we aren't really doing much. We planned a trip in October to celebrate. I think we will go on a date tonight and do the grocery shopping. Yippee (groan). Good morning all.
Prayers for our sweet Laci. I am sorry to read she is ill Possum. I hope it is not serious.
Boo and Bruce, Happy anniversary. I hope you had a good one.
MDC, Yep, used them "PIGS" a time or two. We also had some absorbent wipes that would pick up only oil and fuel that might be mixed in with water. Since we dealt a lot with unleaded fuel, diesel, motor oil, and atf, these were very handy to clean up product out of the water.
Looks like this morning they are saying the storm may veer northward up the east coast, missing Florida for the most part. I talked to Sarah yesterday and she was saying the forecast changes every couple of hours so they tell them to expect the worse and be happy if it doesn't happen.
Romeena, I try so hard to be civil with those folks who call for banning gun ownership. I know there are a percentage of them who really think it will end the things currently going on. And if I thought it would, I'd be on board with it. But I think we all know that will not be the case. I think you hit the nail right on the head. The problem isn't the guns. We are treating the symptom, not the disease by calling for gun bans.
MDC, Any episode that has Peggy in it, I like. She was a fine, fine girl. I have noticed the station wagon she drives up in also, but never even thought about the T Bird. Good catch. Maybe she gave it back to her Daddy so Andy would be more comfortable with things. I saw Perry Mason last night and one episode had Jean Boswell in it (that college kid) and she was married to the D.A. who was prosecuting Andy (based on the magazine article she wrote). And his name was (drum roll please) Asa! (he would have to be called Asa) Any way, Asa ended up killing a feller who was having an affair with her. Such goings on I tell ya. Fletch (AKA Parnell Rigby) is another TAGS actor who is a frequent show up on P.M. Usually as a Doctor testifying for the prosecution.
Guess I'll go fire up the mower. Warm and humid here this morning. But cloudy. Might get some rain later. We can use it for sure.
Possum, please let us know how Laci is doing when you can.

Thanks for posting about Laci, Boo. And thanks for the prayers and concern, y'all. Had some scary times yesterday with Laci. She's been on antibiotics for what doctors thought was strep throat (they couldn't get a good swab because Laci didn't cooperate too well) so they went ahead and treated it as strep. Last few days she developed terrible diarrhea and yesterday afternoon she passed out and stopped breathing twice. My daughter did CPR on her twice and brought her back around. Ambulance transported to local hospital, I met them there and y'all ,that was one ill young lady. Gave her IV fluids and started looking a little better. Decided to transport her to a Columbia area hospital in light of this hurricane approaching and the fact that it is better equipped to serve Laci. She's getting excellent care there and they've diagnosed her with C Diff, which depleted her electrolytes, potassium, and caused all of this. They are giving her electrolytes, fluids and treating the C Diff and my daughter says she had a good night and is doing much better. Please keep Laci in your thoughts and prayers. Can y'all believe that our porch baby will turn 16 on Saturday? We want her well and home for her birthday but the main thing is for her to just recover from this. Thank you all and I will keep you posted. Oh, and where we all are in SC we should be fine during Dorian. Maybe a bit of rain and wind but we can handle that. The coast is going to take a beating,so keep everyone in the path of this storm (and those poor folks in the Bahamas!) in your prayers. Thanks again,y'all. Love from Possum

Thank you all for the anniversary wishes. Bruce and I are waiting to celebrate it with a trip in October but we did go out for awhile last night, picked up dinner at around 8pm and went to the beach for an evening picnic. After that, we went and did some grocery shopping. Reality. lol He did send me some beautiful roses and a card, which was very sweet. Bruce and I are closer now in our relationship than we have been since we were married. Hardship has brought us together instead of driving us apart, and for that I am very thankful. Thank you for your prayers for our family! Erin has been having some panic attacks but I think she is struggling with the anxiety of moving forward in her life. We are trying to help her with that and I see some positive things. Sean is working his bottom off in his current job but is sticking it out until something better arrives. He has applied for some contract jobs at the navy base here and we are hoping something will open up for him because starting pay and benefits are good.
It is still really hot here but we are looking forward to some cooling down, eventually. This humidity is the really bad. I think next month Bruce and I are going to go up to East Texas for our little trip. There are actually pine forests there and the temps will be cooler at night. I think I told you all about how my blind uncle and his wife lived in the forest in East Texas when I was young and how one night we took a walk with him to a neighboring farm. It was myself, my blind uncle, my dad and my nephew, Matt. (If I recently told you this, I apologize). Anyway, as we started off down this tree-lined path in the middle of nowhere, it was still twilight so we could see. We didn't think to take a flashlight and about halfway to our destination, it turned as black as black can be! No moon or stars to light our way. You couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Uh oh..now what? My blind uncle, who knew the way very well, said, "Just follow me and we will be fine"...and we were. lol That is just so funny to me when I think of it. Literally the blind leading the blind.
Well, got to get some things done for work so better get going. Hope you all have a great day

Good morning, porch. Possum, thanks for the update on Laci. So good to hear she's improving, and I'[m betting she will recover just fine. Sounds like the medical staff is on top of things.
Scary? Oh, yes! Kids can terrify you at the drop of a hat. I can't imagine how frightened you and your daughter must have been, and I'm so glad your daughter knew CPR and was able to bring her back. Everyone should know basic life support, but most people don't. Prayers continue, dear friend.
I'm about at my wit's end with this little wild child of mine. I don't remember Toye Starr being like this, because she wasn't like this! Honestly, Trinket is unstoppable. She has chewed up her wicker toy basket and left pieces of wicker everywhere. She uses her potty box about one time out of five. The rest, well, any old spot will do! She considers me her personal chew toy, and nibbles and nips at me constantly. She doesn't break the skin, but the little sharp nips do hurt at times, and besides, it's just plain rude and annoying, and I've got to break her of it. I scold her, and put her down on the floor for a while, and when I allow her back in my lap, she snuggles up very close, burrows her face into my neck and shoulder, and falls asleep! Now how do you remain stern with that? She's still a baby, just four months old, and I love her very much, but I don't want her to be a brat. Toye Starr, and Sugarplum too, for that matter, just were so much more compliant and easy to teach. This little heathen is really a challenge. Cute and sweet and loving, but really full of it! Oh well, this too shall pass.
Happy Anniversary, Boo and Bruce! Take some time away from the kids, the house, the jobs, and just be together. Every couple needs some "alone time" and you are no exception.
Well, I'd better go feed my little house-monster, and maybe even find something for myself. I'm not hungry, never am in the morning, but I should eat something, I guess. Blessings, friends! --Romeena

Good morning, porch! It's a beautiful day, and I have a lot to do. Jorge (George) is coming to help me clean out the garage today. You may remember, Jorge used to be Joe's helper, with Joe being the landscaper who installed my sprinkler system and basically built the landscaping in my yard. Joe has pretty much retired now, but Jorge is still young and strong, and as hard a worker as anyone I know. He came by one day and just walked over the yard, and told me he would help me with anything that needed to be done. He knows that Eddie handles the mowing and edging and such, but Jorge will dig a little deeper if needed. He's a good guy, I trust him and enjoy his company. He's still working on his English, which is about as good as my Spanish, so we help each other, and manage just fine. Anyway, there is still a miserable rat in the garage, and the only way I'm going to evict him is to clean that place out, and I can't do it myself. Jorge will do it, I will help where I can, and we'll get it done. Tomorrow is trash day, so we'll have a large offering on the curb for them in the morning, I'm sure. Also, Eddie will be here to mow and edge, and so this place should be shining by about 4 pm. I hope I can hold up that long!
Boo, I love the story about your blind uncle! What a wonderful memory. I'm glad you and Bruce are going to make a little getaway and visit the piney woods. East Texas is so beautiful, you will enjoy it, I know. The main thing is just some time alone for the two of you. I'm glad to hear that your relationship is getting even stronger.
My back yard is full of robins. They've arrived in force, with the intent of stripping my American Beautyberry bushes, and I'm sure they'll do exactly that. They do it every year, all in one day. However, with Eddie out there mowing, and Jorge doing a little maintenance on the sp0rinkler system, they may find their plans disrupted. No matter, they'll be back tomorrow.
It looks like Dorian has basically stayed offshore along Florida's Atlantic coast. That means my daughter-in-law, in Mt. Dora (in the belt buckle of Florida) is okay. She'll be getting some wind and rain from the side bands, but nothing severe, I pray. I'll call her tonight when she's home from work. Prayers for those poor souls in the Bahamas, they have really taken a beating. The price one pays for living in a tropical paradise, I suppose.
Well, I'd better go feed The Destroyer, and get ready to meet Jorge when he gets here, which should be any minute now. He's usually very prompt. P)Possum, please keep us updated on Laci's progress. Blessings, everyone! -- Romeena

Ha! I got him!! There has been a mosquito in here, big enough to need a tail number, and he has bitten me at least six times. My feet are stinging, he got me twice on one arm, and I'm sure he's bitten little Trinket as well. Thank goodness she's been started on heartworm prevention. Anyway, he made the mistake of drifting through my field of vision, as I was looking at my monitor, and I grabbed my little spray bottle of rubbing alcohol and literally knocked him out of the air. He landed on my desktop shredder, I sprayed him again, then wiped him up with a tissue and gleefully squeezed and pounded the tissue, then flushed it! Adios, mosca! I love that spray bottle of alcohol. No bad smell, no oily residue, evaporates almost instantly, harms nothing but the mosquito! It will get a housefly as well, but it takes several squirts. I absolutely hate and despise mosquitoes and flies! Miserable creatures! --Romeena

I think maybe you named Trinket wrong. Bloody Mary seems more fitting. ;)

I dunno Boo, maybe Bass would be more fitting for Trinket. Trinket T. Bass? Might work.
Romeena, just don't overdo in your garage dear. No need to cripple yourself.
GF, I tried firing up my snow blower yesterday, just to keep it exercised. I put treated fuel in it at the end of the season, and run it for a few minutes each month. Well the stupid thing won't stay running unless I half choke it. A sure sign the so called fuel and carb are not dancing together. I declare, Honda products really don't do well with this ethanol garbage. I am going to drain out the fuel and try some new fuel and hope that does the trick. Very frustrating. My driveway is just to big for electric. Grrrrrr!
Possum, so glad to read Laci is doing better. I hope y'all stay powered up.
Well off to my garage to do some cleaning too.

Asa, That is the very reason why I got me a “electronal” snowblower instead of gas. I was thinking yesterday going out to the garage it’s about time for me to give Joe a healthy spray down with silicon spray so the snow doesn’t stick to him....But I don’t even acknowledge Fall until Mayberry Days is OVER!...
Romeena...Maybe call her “T T”....Texas Tornado 🌪 🤷🏼♂️

Prayers for Possum`s Granddaughter Laci and glad to hear she is doing better.
Had my first day of physical therapy this morning for my back muscle. A little sore from all the poking but had a nice therapist. Gave me a list of exercises to do a few times a day. The stretch`s really help.
You all be careful cleaning out those garages, I think that is where I over strained myself.
My Oakland A`s are still hanging in there for the wild card. I sure hope they make it but there middle relievers are going to have to do a little better. That is easy for me to say.

Frankie, my DBacks are still in it in our NL division too. We beat those dreaded Dodgers two games last weekend!
RO--would Trinket's breeder have any suggestions on the piddle problem, and the nipping issue? just a thought.
Speaking of nipping, tonite's tags had this good line: "You read any book on child rearing, and they all agree on one thing...NIP IT IN THE BUD!" :)
Also, I'm not sure about ya-all's Me-TV schedule, but they are going to start the Flintstones here real soon!! :)
BOO- glad you and Bruce will get away! Let the 'kids' fend for themselves for a while! ha Have a good time!
ASA and GF...no snow blowers needed here! In fact, when Sun City opened here back in the 1960s, they hosted a snow shovel burning party! lol GF--good Raid video!
Possum, praying for both of your situations, Laci and Dorian! May Laci recover and Dorian disburse!
ALL, I had an echocardiogram yesterday, and had the same tech who has done them on me for the past 6 years.
She smiled at the end and said, "I can't really give you any results as you know, but I'll just say that you'll be real happy with your ejection fraction." (EF) I see my cardiologust next Monday for the official results!!
GF and ASA, I pray for all the porchsters and families each day, and your spouses are included in that prayer! God bless you both, you are wonderful caregivers!

Good morning all.
That is very kind MDC. I don't know how good a caregiver I am though. I try to do the best I can. Debbie is not very demanding for the most part. Boy, the thought of a snow shovel burning party sounds like fun. My buddy from Mesa e-mailed me yesterday and said he was going shopping later on for a new snow shovel. I asked him what on earth for. He responded with "just to look at". lol (he was taunting me) That is good news concerning the old ticker buddy.
Last night I saw all kinds of TAGS folks on PM including Briscoe Darling. Even saw Chuck O'Malley as a Judge. He made a pretty good one at that.
Frankie, those back exercises are tedious, but they do seem to help I believe. I remember a few years ago my Doctor referred me for P.T. I really didn't want to go, but did. When the therapist walked in to the room (she was definitely not a boy) I decided I needed a lot of PT. :) She sure made it enjoyable.
Well I am off to pick my peaches. They are ready for harvest.
Prayers for all.

Thanks MDC for your concern, it is a challenge at times, but when you sign up you promised for ”Better and Worse” which nowadays don’t mean much anymore to some people.
Asa..Glad to hear your peaches 🍑 are fuzzed up ready to be converted into a cobbler!..Can you say “Vanilla Ice Cream”
Ok, I got one...If you think Amazon and others are spying on us you just may be right..This morning I got a Amazon sugestion for dog peepads!...We haven’t had a dog for years! Hummm Curious...Curious!..I guess they were spying on our Trinket conversation.....

Possum checking in- we're fine here,y'all. Just some light rain and gusty winds at times-no power issues! Charleston,Myrtle Beach and the rest of the coast got roughed up,so please keep those folks in your prayers. Lots of power outages in Charleston as of last night. Tornadoes in the MB area. Again, possum and crew are fine. Laci remains in Columbia area hospital and is on the mend. Thanks again for your prayers,Porch Family.

Possum, thanks for checking in. You and Laci and your family are in my prayers for sure.
GF, Upon further review them peaches still need a few more fuzzing days. I picked a few just the same. So I put my time working on my snow blower. Drained off the fuel, added fresh, fired it up and let it run for a spell. She sounds a lot better now. I may name her Helen she is so blame temperamental. She beats everything, you know that? lol

Thank you,Asa. Sure do appreciate the prayers. Laci is so much better and just got released from the hospital-she is one happy girl! Thank God for bringing her through this terrible scare. She's going to be fine.
My heart hurts for the coast of the Carolinas-there's been some awful damage in some areas. We're strong and will come back from this storm. I pray the Bahamas can.
Well, it's been a long stressful time around possum's rock,so gonna try to relax some now that things are better. Y'all take care and thanks again for the concern and love.

Glad you and Laci are doing well, Possum. Thanks so much for the updates!
I feel for those in the Bahamas. I don't think I would ever want to live there. It seems like a hurricane magnet. St. Susan and I were talking about it tonight when I was over in her pool floating around. We were remembering the misery of Hurricane Harvey 2 years ago and we wondering if these storms are going to get bigger and stronger due to the climate change everyone is talking about. Its another reason to get off the coast! I don't ever want to go through weeks of what we went through 2 years ago! Trying to function in the heat and humidity with no electric or water for over a month! No thanks.
Been a busy day of chores around here since I had a day off. I still have more laundry tomorrow and am going to try and tackle this office. So much paper and old mail, etc. Ick.
Hope you all are enjoying the evening.

HI ALL! Asa and GF, you bet! Keep up the good work.
You both are the cats!
Asa--Pretty funny naming your snowblower HELEN! ha
Does anyone have an email address for POOR HORATIO?
I am getting more concerned for him.
Tonite's tags ep only needs two words: Luke Comstock!
I think it is the only time that the audience saw that
Andy had a gun in the house.
GF-- ads for dog pads!? That is pretty funny.
BOO-Are you working at the school this year?
POSSUM, glad to hear that things are better on both fronts.
That C-diff can be bad stuff, so thankful to the good Lord.
Have a good evening everyone,

Good morning all.
MDC, I enjoyed that clip. I must admit I never watched the show much though. I was noticing the sidewalk that leads to the front door. That looks like something I would do, but trying to be straight with it. lol That is a lawn edgers nightmare. HA!
Old Luke sure shows up in a lot of PM also. Usually as some kind of sinister bad guy, although he has been a good guy a time or two. I saw Otis last night, and a young Robert Redford in another one.
Yay, Possum, so glad that Laci is doing so well and home from the hospital. Makes me happy. Continued prayers for you all.
Boo, You surely do keep busy girl. Good for you. Keeps your mind from locking in in the struggles.
Yep, the more I think about it, the better I like it. My Honda snow blower is officially named Helen. Moody, temperamental, high maintenance, demands a lot of TLC, usually gets her own way. Helen for sure. lol
Well I need to go fix a sprinkler. I noticed a dry spot in my yard yesterday so I fired them up to see what was going on. Sure enough, I have one of those pop up impact head sprinklers not turning. I can usually fix them, but if not they are easily replaced.
Prayers for all.

Yes, I stay busy, Asa...I have to. I am looking forward to the day when I can retire, sell this big house and do less. I will probably always work in some capacity..either paid or volunteer because I am not the type to do nothing. I go insane from boredom. I hope and pray that I will be physically able to do work until the day I die. I guess we all hope that, though. I am already dealing with some aches and pains, though. Seems my back seizes up easily already. lol I also have a bone spur on one of my neck vertebra that gives me trouble sometimes. That's life I guess.
Woke up with a bad headache. When I was at St Susan's last evening she gave me one of those vitamin water drinks and I think it had sucralose in it because I got a whopper of a headache! I took a pill and am much better now, thankfully. I threw together a big pot of veggie soup in my pressure cooker and it sure is smelling good! That will feed me for days. I have to go back to work tomorrow for the weekend. I am hoping for something to do while I am there. We had two nurses on on Wed night and there just was not enough to do so I left early, after pacing around like a cheetah in that office, cleaning things, auditing charts, making copies..boring!
I got Erin signed up for the CNA class she wants to take. They offer a free CNA (Certified Nurses Aid) class at the nursing home where we placed Bruce's mom and it is only a couple of weeks and then they hire you at one of their sister facilities. I am sure hoping it works out for her and she isn't overwhelmed. It should be interesting anyway. She is still talking about getting into nursing but is more interested in psych nursing now. I told her she should try to get her nurse practioner's license and she could specialize in that area. I have my finger's crossed but am used to facing obstacles with Erin. You just never know what she is going to do. I started to worry that maybe she had a drug problem because lately she just looks bad. Dark circles under her eyes and such. She swears she isn't doing anything like that and maybe it is just the depression I am seeing but it concerns me. I looked through my prescription meds last night and nothing is missing so that is a good sign. Maybe I am just paranoid. I hope so, anyway, but I am watching things.
Better go check on my soup. Is it still hot where all of you are? It is positively brutal outside here. Awful. I am really looking forward to that first cool front! Once September gets here, we Texans have really had our fill of the heat.
