December 31, 2014 - Msg 100326:
Oh, tonite's color ep was about the new organ!
Maybe I'll start using the moniker "Harlan Robinson" in 2015! ha
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100327:
You try & control yourself, Sterling! Don't you go messing up my final sweep! Ha!
Hey,I read where Brasstown, NC is going to stop with their famous New Year's Eve "Possum Drop"- you know how they drop the ball in Times Square? Well, Brasstown dropped an actual possum-for real!
So,yeah, now that I can come out of hiding on New Year's Eve,the party is ON!! As MDC already stated,we'll have it right here on the porch. Asa,bring some fireworks and Boo bring the celebrating elixir! MDC's got the cocoa to swing it-LOL
Happy New Year to all!!
P.S. Glad you liked the pics, MDC!
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100328:
Well now MDC, Maybe you could go by Harlan Hendricks. That way you could still keep your Butter and Egg title while singing with Clara "Some enchanted evening". You chicken coop Casanova. :)
Great pics Possum. Thank you for sending them to me. I envy you girl!
Survived the winds yesterday, but took some doing. They shut down all the freeways to high profile trucks. Some of them were blowing over just sitting still. We still have some breeze this morning, but nothing like yesterday. But we are currently at minus 2 degrees. So it doesn't take much breeze to go right through you. They call it a lazy wind, because it's to lazy to around you. It just goes through you. Brrrr.
GF, I had to spend a few hours yesterday on the roof in that wind, trying to troubleshoot a rooftop unit that wouldn't fire. All I could think of was GF, with the tv on TAGS, right between your pointed up feet reclined in your wheeler. Bless your heart. :)
Well better go see what all the damages from the winds are. All those end of the year projects that just had to be done before the end of today just got bumped down the list.
Prayers for all.

Yep Asa, That is where I was...Watching some DVD's I got for Christmas. Has anyone seen "Flag of my Father" with William Devane? Mrs. G-F got it for me, it will make ya cry tho. Google it it is a good one, I won't tell, you'll have to see it for your selves.
Possum drop? That just ain't right, I hope they at least put a helmet on the little guy. No wonder Possum stays hunkered down for the New Year. At least NOW she can party with the rest of us. MDC does that Hot Coco come with those tiny little marshmallows? Ya gotta have that or even better a dollop of whipped cream.
Romeena, Glad you had a good time with your family, yep special times, did they have to revive anyone from cookie overdose? I can just see all her little squirrels & birds eating away on the cookie left-overs..haha
Sterling, Hopefully your MIL will watch "Raymond" and see herself in "Marie Barone" and realize she has "MBS" and make some changes for 2015...It could happen! (I think the series is on DVD...A late Christmas present) ;) Just trying to help Buddy.
TOM, Auh20, SPOT, Maude, Lucy, John Masters, PH, Check in so we make sure your Ok.

Good morning, porch. A "Possum drop"? With a large and adequate parachute, I trust? And somebody standing by to retrieve the poor terrified little critter and make sure he was unhurt? Of all the unnecessary things to do, dropping a possum from an airplane takes the whole biscuit.
Well, better run. Got a home health visit to make, and it's a discharge visit. I'm not very familiar with the procedure. I'm not supposed to be doing any discharge visits, but the office doesn't have anyone else available and it has to be done today. So, guess it's up to me. I'll get through it.
I'm going to a friend's house for her annual New Year's Eve gathering. Almost everyone there will be from our SS department at church, and most of us will have known each other for at least forty years. It's a Mexican potluck, so the food will be great! I'll probably leave a little early and be home before midnight. I like to be safely in my chair, with Toye Starr on my lap before the craziness starts on the streets. Not that it gets bad in this area, it's usually pretty quiet, but still, I just like to be at home. I'll probably check in here again, but just in case I don't, Happy New Year, everyone. --Romeena

I swear Mr. Carlson, I thought Possums could fly! I am glad they stopped that practice. As Andy would say, "they shouldn't do that"!
You be careful Ro. I hate seeing anyone out on the streets on this night.
Party is on, good deal. I'll brang fireworks and my bongo's, and even my tool belt. Might as well go all out, don't you reckon?
And I'll put some castors on GF's "Wheeler". He'll be there with bells on.
I'm so excited I need to do something, but what will I do?
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100332:
I hear they do a "conga line dance" or something like that at parties. Asa can start the "Gravy Train" line dance, only thing is he has to say:"Whooo Whooo" since he is the conductor. And since he's putting castors on my "Wheeler" I'll bring up the rear as the caboose sayin' YeeHaw!
Just don't ask me to sing...I can't you know, since part of my name IS Fife..haha I figure if we start at Possums, that is ET and if we go to Boo's or Romeena's that I guess will be CT and I suppose MDC or Asa is MT? All we need is someone in California to make PT...Wait, I think MDC's Brother is in California, so MDC call him and tell him we are finishing up at his place by bringing in the New Year is all the US time zones..."Where's the Tylenol"? Those Mulberry squeezin's creep up on a person.... Yep, it would be a party for the ages...lol
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100333:
Now see here Mr. G-F & Mr. Asa well not be at the party tonight ! you to have to makup some time in the big house?
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVE and stay off the Mulberry squezzin tonight
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100334:
Read all about the Possum Drop! This says it is ON,despite other reports I've read that they won't drop the possum this year.
I'll be incognito at the party tonight, just in case!
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100335:
Party??!! I'm bringing the squeezins.
I need a party tonight. Feeling a but heavy hearted today. One if my dear nephews (my brother's boy), came out to us and told us he is gay. He tried for several years to hold his marriage together but they are divorcing. I know it must be tough for everyone and they have a three yr old little girl. I really love him and want the best for him. He lives in Washington, so I can't be with him right now and that is hard.
Well, I am sitting in front if the fire and thinking about the changes that 2014 brought to our family..some good, some difficult...all with God's control. Here's hoping 2015 is full of blessing. Love you all!
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100336:
A "possum drop"?
Is that like the jelly beans that guinea pigs drop all the time, according to Colonel Potter?
Sorry about your brother's son and his wife, Boo. But mostly sorry for the little girl. Ugh. Sin is pretty selfish.
Hope you all have a happy, safe, and sane New Year. I don't really do anything for New Years. Don't really want to either. The kind of atmosphere is always kind of a let-down after the blessings of Christmas, I feel.
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100337:
HAPPY NEW YEAR! THE POSSUM PARTY OF THE PORCH" IS IN FULL SWING.
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! GOD'S BLESSINGS ON YOU AND YOURS IN 2015!
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100338:
See the 2012 Possum Drop Right Here, Folks!
December 31, 2014 - Msg 100339:
Well now, that's not so bad. Where did I get the idea they dropped the little guy from an airplane? See what happens when you jump to conclusions? Of course, I'm sure the possum wasn't too happy with the noise and the fireworks, being such a shy and reclusive little critter, but there is a note that says he was treated well, and was released the next day. Scared, I'm sure, but apparently unharmed.
I'm home early from my friend's party, it's not quite 10:30 and I'm in my jammies and settled down with Toye Starr, a big glass of tea and some cookies. I'll find a good movie, and all will be well.
To all of you who have been so kind, so loving, so supportive of me through the years, with all my trials and tribulations - I thank you. Though most of us will never meet in person, I feel like you're family, and think of you with love. I pray for your needs, and rejoice with your good times. I ask God's blessings on each of you in the year to come, and wish you a very Happy New Year! --Romeena
