December 25, 2009 - Msg 76857: Merry Christmas Porch!
I am so thankful that a few years ago after the death of Don Knotts I discovered this Porch and all of my friends. I appreciate all of the prayers all have given to me and my family this year especially. We are praying that 2010 will be much better. Thank you to everyone of my Porch Friends! I hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas day (well what's left of it) and a happy New Year! I probably won't be back on until next year because Bryson and I are driving to my family's in Kentucky.

Blessings to you and yours,
~Lucy
P.S. Thank you to all that have sent me cards this year. I have enjoyed each and every one!

December 25, 2009 - Msg 76858: Merry Christmas to all! Rev already mentioned the rain we had in SC today-he is NOT exaggerating! I had to drive down to pick Andy up and it was pretty nasty on the way back, but we made it. Oh,my Mama was SO happy to see him! He just walked in her back door(the rain slacked off for a bit-yay!) and said " Hey Gran!" and my mama said "Ooh,I'm going to cry!"- then the rest of us did too! It was a wonderful Christmas. He will be in SC until the middle of January, then he goes back to Wyoming & college. I think he will come back to SC eventually-he wants to go into dentistry & The Medical University in Charleston is top notch.Time will tell. He seems to be acclimating himself pretty well to Wyoming, from what he's told me. One thing's for sure-he knows where home is. He told his parents that all he wanted for Christmas was to come home to see his grandmother, his family & friends. And he did!

Our Laci enjoyed her Christmas! Oh,for a picture that captures the wonder of a kid seeing what Santa left under the tree on Christmas morning,go to Ro's album & check out the pic of Laci from a few years back-classic!
Boo,thank you for telling me about Jubi. She has been in my thoughts a lot lately, and I've been praying for her to have a nice Christmas.
Hope all of you have had a special day- love to all!

December 25, 2009 - Msg 76859: Yes, Possum, it was a nice day...no fights broke out in Bruce's family gathering, so it was a good day. We did have one little episode with his mom, but thanks to his sister keeping a cool head, nothing much happened...she told me she had been praying before we came that it would be a peaceful gathering. haha...Bruce's sister's (Vic and Linda) were sitting at the table talking after dinner and the rest of us were sitting in the living room. Linda came in and sat beside me and said, "I had to get up and leave."..turns out that Bruce's mom started saying that Sean was not normal (speaking of his Tourette's and OCD) and that she didn't know how we stood it everyday. Well, that didn't go over well at all with Linda. She decided the best thing to do was leave the table before she told her mother how she felt about it! Oh boy, it's always something. When we left everyone was ok and peaceful, so it was a good day. We are all really tired and ready for a night at home on the couch, though.

Blessings to all...prayers for safe travel, Lucy. We are very glad you joined our porch family, too.

Ro, I hope you took some pictures of that snow to post. How wonderful that you were blessed with a white Christmas. I think most Texans die without every having that experience. :-) Hope you made a snow angel for us!!

Boo

December 25, 2009 - Msg 76860: Oh, forgot to share something neat with you animal lovers...Bruce's sister, Linda, had a new dog that I had not yet met named Logan. She has had him for over a year, but I didn't even know about him. He is a little doxie mix with a doxie face but longer, very thin legs. Very timid and gentle. It turns out that he was a stray in a trailor park near them and was literally starving to death when someone found him. He has a deformed back leg that the vet said was the result of an injury that never healed right, so he lost use of that twisted little leg. Now is a very healthy-looking, filled out little dog with a wonderful life. He only goes outside to go to the bathroom and is a loving family now. They also have another dog, a miniature pinscher (sp?) that is the fattest small dog I have ever seen in my entire life. Luckily the two dogs get along great.

Boo

December 25, 2009 - Msg 76861: Just wanted to stop by and tell the porch thank you for another wonderful year you all are so very special...been having family and visiting today...prayers to all and Merry Christmas....SPOT

December 26, 2009 - Msg 76862: Stopping by on my way to the ironingboard, to say Hi and wish each and everyone a Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year!
It has been an especially blessed celebration as each of the children have been home (and brought more with them!) What an exciting time at our house...
It's raining, icing and snowing on this side of the porch.
Thank you for another year of friendship, support and prayers from the greatest family in the world- you all!! You're truly a blessing. ~New Neighbor

December 26, 2009 - Msg 76863: Morning all. Sounds like everyone had a delightful Christmas. Even poor old Spot. Sorry yer ailin buddy, but glad you got em yanked. That must have been awful. I dang near need a tranqualizer just for a cleaning. Dang tooth doctors are perverse I tell ya. J.K. There was once I had to see one in an emergency for a root canal. It was after hours and I was hurting so bad I was glad for him to see me. Anyway, glad you got it dealt with. Just make sure you soak yer cookies in yer milk so you don't bruise yer gums.

I can't imagine what it must be like Ro, to live in an area that seldom sees snow, and not be equipped to deal with it. We are blessed with lots of plows and sanders here. But most times they can't keep up with the storms, at least in the early goings. But usually within 24 hours after, all the roads have been plowed and sanded and salted.

Chuck, wow buddy, great to see you. Where you been hiding? Musta been a rash of bad feet. :)

Well think I'll go play with my Christmas presents.

Asa

December 26, 2009 - Msg 76864: You are so right, ASA. The Christmas that it snowed here was crazy. Icy roads and people trying to get around for Christmas. Bruce and Sean ran off the road in his truck, but were lucky enough to be able to get it out of the ditch. Corpus Christi has a huge bridge over the harbor that connects it to everything north. Thousands and thousands of people cross it daily and when it snows or ices up, they close down the stupid bridge. We are not equipped for snow and ice AT ALL.

Woke up with a stinkin' headache this morning and am dragging around hoping the coffee will kick in. I guess my body finally rebelled against all the activity and rich food....groan.

You are so right about the porch, NNeighbor. What a blessing you all are. :-)

Boo

December 26, 2009 - Msg 76865: Asa, speaking of that bridge, I just read a news report that yesterday, a woman had a baby on the bridge. Her husband was rushing frantically to get her to the hospital on time but when the reached the top of the bridge, the baby was coming and no way to stop it. The husband (who luckily was a firefighter and had some training) had to deliver the baby right there on top of the bridge. All was well and they actually named the baby Abigail BRIDGETTE...isn't that funny?

You can see a picture of the bridge at:

December 26, 2009 - Msg 76866: Good morning, porch! Beautiful day here, 37 degrees and sunny. There are still drifts of snow piled in the flowerbed along my back fence. The fence is eight feet high, runs east/west, so when the sun is low in the southern sky as it is this time of year, that area remains in the shade all the time. Actually the two feet or so nearest the fence never receives sun, even in the summer. It's a great place for planting impatiens. They love it - plenty of light, but no direct sun.

Everything is flowing well at the pond. I haven't been out there to check, but I'm sure the fish are faring well, they always do. People ask me if I have some way to heat the water for them, and I just reply that God heats it for me the same way He heats the natural lakes and ponds, by the sun's rays, and it works.

Wow! Delivering a baby in the middle of the flow of traffic on a bridge. That woman was lucky her husband had some idea what to do. I think the baby's name is hilarious, and delightful. What a story those folks have to tell!

We had a lovely day at Eloise's yesterday. She and I gave each other identical gifts. We knew we were doing it, but we wrapped them and exchanged them anyway, just for fun. We were shopping in Hobby Lobby one day and found these oval platters. They have a Nativity scene in raised relief, and the inscription "God said, Let there be Light, and there was Jesus." They're tastefully done, and very pretty. We bought stands as well, and I plan to keep mine on display on the credenza in my dining room all the time. It's not just a Christmas thing, for me. I have little Nativity reminders throughout my house. The big display just comes out at Christmas, but small, tasteful figures can be found here and there the year around. Anyway, back to my story - we found those platters, and both of us loved them, We finally realized that we were each sneaking around, trying to figure a way to buy one for a gift for the other. We stood there in the store laughing at ourselves, and finally just decided we'd each go ahead and buy one and would go through with the exchange at gift-opening time. Yes, our kids think we're nuts, but we don't care.

Well, I'm off to the grocery store. I'm cooking a turkey meal tomorrow - "just because." Why not? I love turkey, and enjoy having leftovers - so again, why not? We get to have two Christmas dinners around here. When our kids married each other, Eloise made it plain from the get-go that Christmas Day was hers. She doesn't ask for much, but she didn't stutter when she said that, so I decided to go with the flow. She can have it, and I'll just do my thing a day or two or three later, and she's supportive of that. The specific date isn't that important to me - working in a hospital over the years taught me to be flexible about dates - and it does matter to her. I'm glad she does it, and if ever I don't want to do a meal later, I'm under no pressure to do so. Can't beat a deal like that!

I'm doing it this year though, so gotta run. I already have the turkey, but got to go shop for the rest of the stuff. Be blessed, everyone. --Romeena

Spot, did anybody give you a blender for Christmas? You're gonna need one-a month of no toothies?! Well,I can always rustle you up some grits! We won't let ya starve!

All that rain yesterday has got the sinus stuff going again- just too damp and wet leaves everywhere must trigger allergies or something. I'm not the only one complaining so there must be some connection to the weather.Sick of it,I'll tell you that!

Well, let me quit my grumbling & go back under myrock for a while. Y'all take care!

December 27, 2009 - Msg 76874: OOOOOh! Grits! That sounds so good. I'd love a big bowl of grits right about now, with lots of butter, and maybe even a little cheese. I love cheese grits! Come on over, Spotty Dog, and I'll make you a big bowl of cheese grits.

Beautiful day again today, clear and sunny, fairly cold at 37 degrees, but tolerable. The critters are out in force, checking out the feeding stations. One little squirrel is just ecstatic, because I put a handful of shelled pecans in the tray last night, and he just found them. Woohooo! A feast, he says. I just love to watch them. There will be several more around that feeder very soon - I can see them in the trees out back, and as soon as they notice him and see that he's eating something, they'll come to join him.

Well, gotta get busy. The family is coming here today for yet another Christmas meal - turkey this time. Eloise served ham on Christmas Day, and it was delicious, but today is turkey. I got my cranberries cooked last night. Had to chase all over town to find them! Nobody had fresh cranberries. I finally called Sam's, was told they had one three-pound bag and that was it. I told the guy to hide them, I'd be there in fifteen minutes. He did, I was, and I brought home the berries, apparently the last ones in captivity. I don't like canned cranberries - fresh is the only way to go, in my opinion. Oh, I'll eat the canned ones, if there's nothing else, but I much prefer the ones I cook myself. The canned ones are too sweet.

The rest of the meal will be easy, nothing elaborate. Sweet taters and marshmallows, fruit salad, green beans, corn, nasty little boxed macaroni and cheese for the little kids (they love it, for some reason), maybe some peas, and of course, turkey and dressing. Sounds like a lot, I guess, but actually, that's a very easy meal to prepare. Beats the socks off of frying chicken!

Have a great day, everyone. --Romeena

December 27, 2009 - Msg 76875: I hear that, RO! There is nothing I hate to cook more than fried chicken. I have made it for my family a total of about 3 times. Turkey is pretty easy, really. Dressing is a bit more involved but not hard. I always open a can of cranberry sauce...never tried to make it. I do make good sweet taters, though. I have a question for ya: what is the difference between sweet potatoes and yams? Are they the same thing? Always wondered because I hear both.

Went to old Wally-World today and bought some half-off christmas stuff for next year. Found the cutest stockings and christmas tree skirt half off and some ornaments. I really wanted to buy some lights but there weren't many of those left except the colored lights with the white cord...maybe i should have picked some up for you, Ro. Do you still have trouble finding them for your tree?

Better chill for awhile...be back later.

Ro....I LOVE good ole grits too. Good eating. I like it with just butter and a little salt. Have you ever had shrimp and grits? That's big around
here.

Boo....I was told the difference in yams and sweet potatoes are yams come only from Loisiana. I know that may sound crazy but I started looking at can labels and sure enough all the yams I found were from La.

Spot....hope you're feeling better brother. I'm sure it takes a while for that to heal.

Well gonna get back to the games. Cowboys and the Redskins starting now.

December 28, 2009 - Msg 76880: Good evening, all. Company has all gone home. We ate a lot of turkey, don't have a whole lot left, just about enough to last me until I get tired of it. My brother and his wife came over, as well as Dave and Brittney, Eloise and Jerry, and their other daughter and her family. We had a houseful, but we had fun. The food was good, even if I do say so myself.

Boo, dressing is toooo easy, at least the way I make it, and it is really good. Also, cooking fresh cranberries is a snap. Just follow the directions on the bag. If you like them not so awfully sweet, reduce the sugar. It calls for a cup per bag, I use about 2/3 cup. I usually add a bit of orange juice in place of some of the water, and maybe a little orange zest. Then after I pour it up in a bowl, I add a bunch of orange-peel curls for decoration, and they taste good, too. After eating the fresh-made, I just don't care for the canned berries anymore. They'll do if the others can't be found, but they're nowhere near as good.

As for fried chicken, I wish I had a nickel for every pile of chicken I've fried - I'd pay off my car! I'm told that I do it right, and it does taste pretty good, but it surely is a lot of trouble. Dale loved my fried chicken though, so we had it about once a week. These days, once in a while I'll buy a small package of drumsticks and bring them home and fry them, but not often.

REV, I may be wrong, but it's my understanding that in the U.S., yams and sweet potatoes are actually the same thing - the name is regional. A true yam, as proven to me by a Nigerian friend, looks like a large sweet potato, but is white. The peel is very light brown and sort of waxy. The inside is white, and when baked is extremely dry and very, very starchy, with almost no flavor. My friend loves them, but I found it hard to even swallow the sample she gave me. The Nigerians eat them plain - just bake them, whack off a chunk and start gnawing. I read somewhere that sweet potatoes were first called yams by the plantation slaves, because they resembled the yams they remembered from Africa, even though they were orange instead of white. Sounds reasonable, I guess.

Well, I'm off to bed. The dishwasher is completing its second round of dishes, bless its little heart, and most of the clutter and disarray is cleared up. You just can't have twelve adults, two little boys and two dogs indoors all day without things getting rumpled. Fortunately, this house is tough, and cleans up nicely.

Peace, friends! --Romeena

Sounds like you had a nice time with your family, Ro. Was Heather there with the baby?
I'll bet he is getting big.

I think you have inspired me to try the cranberries next thanksgiving...sound good.

SPOT, wish we could hear you talk like Cindy Brady! Bet that is really something. :-) I like Funny Farm! Really funny if you catch it on TV but I made the mistake of watching on DVD once and the language was pretty bad. It has some very funny scenes in it. Loved when the dog carried the arm bone into the house while perspective buyers were there!

So you made meatballs, HM?...

Thought of you all when I saw some toilets in Lowe's last night. ;-) Bruce and I had a 10%-off coupon so we went shopping for some things we needed for the house. I had to get plantation blinds for the front windows and I got some other hardware, some stuff bruce needed for hooking up the cable for tv and computer, a rug for the living room, some table lamps, etc. and I saved like 91 dollars with the coupon. Pretty good. :-) Our builder took off on vacation yesterday and we are kind of stuck until he returns next week. The construction insur@nce runs out on the 10th and we have to close, so Bruce is not a happy camper. The guy still has to put the rails on the porch and paint them and put on all the hardware and finish up some trim work. I think he is going to have to work for three days solid with Bruce gaurding him with a shotgun. He's a nice guy and did really well for us for the most part but he took on another job or two and has been taking too long to get things done for us.

Better go...my laundry is piled up as high as Kilimanjaro.

Again thanks for your prayers, you all are the best.

Prayers and blessing to all.

Ro....I had a lady send me a very nice email a couple days ago and said they saw me in the Dallas/Ft Worth,TX area last year. Her name was Peggy. (She didn't put her last name) Just wondering if she was from your church? Do you know any Peggys in your group?

Spot....you're right, kinda slow here tonight.

Tom....you getting any snow tonight?

You all stay warm and stay close to Jesus!
Love and prayers to all the porch family!

Glad the preliminary test results are good, Maude!

Glad I could make you feel special, REV!;-)...and yes, I do love you all.

It is rainy and in the 40's here in South Texas tonight. Wish we had some snow instead!

Think I will grab one of Erin's books and curl up with her and read to her for awhile...if I can pry her away from the television...grrr. Sometimes that thing is my enemy.

December 29, 2009 - Msg 76908: HI everyone. Hope you all had a blessed Christmas.

I am all by my lonesome, at least for one more day, then I am traveling down to Indiana to pick up the Kai, who went with my wife on Monday to help her mom recuperate after some hip surgery. The wife is going to stay a bit longer apparently, though I don't know for how long she will be needed. It seems like she is getting around pretty good based on everywhere they seem to be going.
I was thinking about going tomorrow, but there is supposed to be more snow going on all the way down there, so I decided to wait until Thursday, when there is just supposed to be just some scattered flurries.
Well, that and I have to put in 4 more hours at work in order to get my hours in. Holiday pay will take care of the rest of them.

You all have a safe and happy New Years Eve.

Congrats on your good report, Maude.

December 30, 2009 - Msg 76912: Hey, porch. It's very late, nearly 3 a.m. I'm purposely staying up late, will sleep late in the morning, because I have to work tomorrow night. I really wasn't scheduled until Thursday night, but one of the nurses called and offered to work for me on Saturday night if I'd work for her tomorrow. Since that will let me go to church on Sunday, if I don't work Saturday night, I agreed. I'm first on the "cancel me" list for Thursday night - hope I get it, because one of my good friends will be having a party at her house for the widows and widowers in our group (and a few married couples). It's always fun - we've all known each other for many years and it's almost like family. I'd love to be able to go.

REV, I can't think who that might be. There is no one named Peggy in my circle of friends, but it's a pretty big church. I suppose she got your address off the DVD cover? By the way, I have had several people ask me if and when you're coming back. I tell them you will, as soon as your schedule and the church's can be matched up.

Well, my staying-up-late plan is about to wear out. I think Toye Starr thinks I'm crazy, and I'm very sure she's ready for bed. There have been several little soft paw-pats and a couple of licks on my ankle, followed by her going to the bedroom door and looking back at me. Who says animals can't communicate? To be any clearer, she'd have to send me a telegram.

Tom, bundle up and stay warm! Good night, porch. Be blessed! --Romeena

Hey Folks

Belated Christmas wishes. I've been taking a bit of a cyber break during the holidays. Oh... who's kidding who!? The kids have been hogging the puter while they are a vacation.

We've gotten some of that Texas snow here the last few days, 'bout 14 inches mixed with Asa's cold temps, -4 yesterday. But all is well.

Prayers Big Maude.

December 30, 2009 - Msg 76916: Hey family, it has been kinda slow around here, guess everybody is still trying to settle down after the holidays. We're under yet another winter weather advisory tonight, supposed to be sleet and freezing rain, I'd a lot rather have snow if it's gonna do anything. Right now it's 33 outside so hopefully it will stay warm enough and just rain. I made a crock pot of chilli beans tonight with some corn chips, cheese and sour cream, got plenty left over ya'll stop on by. Spot, dont work to hard tonight, maybe we can all meet up somewhere for breakfast in the morning. Love and prayers to you all-Salty Dog

December 30, 2009 - Msg 76919: Good evening porch folks, home for the night and off Thursday and Friday for much needed R&R. Guess I am tired from all the Christmas celebrations.

Mr. Maude and I will celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary tomorrow! YEAH! We have plans to go to an early dinner and then back home to watch the football game. My daugther is having about 5 of her friends over for a sleep over (probably little sleeping) but should be fun. Patrick is actually going to the game in Atlanta with a girl friend and her family.

Guess I'd better go get busy, lots to do. My husband and kids took the Christmas Decorations down today while I was a work!! Made me very happy so now I can begin to get thinks back to normal in the house.

Bed time snack will be: hot coocolate with marshmallows (soft and gooey for SPOT) and a HOT & Fresh Krispey Kreme Doughnut, should be soft and easy to knaw as well.

Have a good evening, prayers and blessings to all.

Salty D.....Hopefully tou all won't get the sleet and ice.

Spot.....you should be getting off soon. Did you get to see that Idaho and B. Green game tonight? Man what an ending.

Ro...you're right. She probably got the address off of a CD cover. Tell folks there we hope to get lined up again at your church in the fall of 2010. The only bad part of that is when I'm in your area, it's around the same time as your Mayberry trip. But maybe it will work out this year.

auh2o.....glad to see you got your puter back from the kids:)

Well everyone stay warm and keep your heart toward Jesus!

Everybody stay safe and warm tonight-Salty Dog

December 31, 2009 - Msg 76924: Well, I'm bummed. I just found out that an old school friend that i have not seen since high school was arrested and is serving 12 years in prison for possession of child porn. He was a band director at a high school near here and was charged with s#xual misconduct with a 15 yr old but it didn't stick and he left town. He was later arrested for having child porn and trading it. The investigating FBI agent said it was the worst he had seen. I can't even describe here what was in the report but the guy had been blogging about kidnapping children when he was arrested. Now, this is surprising because he was a very nice, polite, church-going kid all through high school. He was the last one I would ever expect, believe me. What happened?! Here's what is really bothering me, though; I was on a website that ran an article about him. It was a site about public school teachers who had been arrested or sentenced for crimes. Most were s#xually crimes against children by teachers and let me tell you there were ALOT of them, all over the country. I guess child predators become teachers to get closer to the objects of their lust. It makes me so sick. It is seeming like public school is a very unsafe place for kids. I was just shocked to see how many their were and that so many of them were women victimizing children. What is this world coming to?

Well, think I will have a glass of mild and go to bed...maybe dream of something pleasant, but I doubt it.

December 31, 2009 - Msg 76926: Morning folks. Happy New Years Eve. Sure been getting plenty of snow on my porch the last few days. Almost 10 inches yesterday.

I see teh Scifi network is starting it's traditional Twilight Zone marathon this morning, if anyone here likes those. I enjoy them if for no other reason than seeing a lot of actors and actresses who were just starting their careers. Kind of fun to see a young Telly Savalis for example. Also a lot of TAGS folks in these shows.

Boo, that is so sad about your friend. We have had 4 cases this year localy. of teachers having flings with students. But what has been unreal is that in all 4 cases the teachers were female and the students were male. And they were not High School age but rather Junior High. The problem is widespread and not restricted to just male teachers. What on earth have we become??? So very sad indeed.

Maude, prayers for your health. And I hope your anniversary is great.

Hey Salty Dog. Stay out of that sleet. And I believe I'll have some of that chili. I know it's risky for all the porchters, but hey, sometimes you just gotta live life on the edge.

Well better go clear the driveway.... again.

Asa

December 31, 2009 - Msg 76927: Asa, it seems that we are reaping the results of removing God from our schools. The other day Zach (who is now a sophomore) said that in his school, which is a public school in a fairly small town, up until Obama was elected, they still had a "minute of silence" for prayer each morning. No longer. So, the CHILDREN of our country; the ones that most need our protection, are spending 40+ hours a week in an environment where the God of the bible is not allowed to enter, and where s#xual predators work and have contact with our kids each day. They are being taught a godless world view and taught that "alternative lifestyles" are good and healthy, starting in elementary school. Well, when will they start saying that s#x with minors or small children is just another "alternative lifestyle" and should be tolerated or even celebrated? That's what is next, you know. Soon anything and everything will be tolerated in that name of political correctness, I'm afraid. ok..I'm done. Sorry, I don't usually express such a strong opinion about things but when I get started on what is happening in schools, it is hard to shut me up.

Better finish my coffee and tackle the chores.

Send some of that snow my way, ASA. By the way, I LOVE Twilight Zone!!...not as much as TAGS but I really love it. As you said, it is really fun to see the young actors and the TAGS folks in those things.

Boo-a lot has to do with US getting involved.
When I went to school, moms were homeroom mothers, etc,
and it seemed like parents were always around. Of course, it was a catholic school, but still.
Now with everyone working and the internet and
all that you talked about, we need to be ever more vigilant, but instead have occupied ourselves with other things. A good resolution for 2010. Be vigilant! Get involved. Get back on the Minuteman watch!

December 31, 2009 - Msg 76938: Good evening, porch! I got the hoped-for phone call, canceled at work for tonight, so I can go to my friend's party. It should be fun - just a bunch of long-time church friends, gathering together to see the old year out and the new year in. Good food, good friends, good fellowship - you just can't beat a deal like that. Poor little Toye Starr will have to stay at home, and she'll be disappointed and sad, but she'll get over it the minute I walk in the door.

This year has been a frightening one in many ways, but as MDC quoted for us, Jesus tells us not to be afraid. There is little we can do about the things that are happening, at least not until next November, but we can trust and pray, and leave it in God's hands.

I worked last night, and babies were born. More will be born tonight. In a few years, those babies will be influencing the path of this nation. Pray for their parents, that they'll bring those kids up "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." We must remember that God said He would always preserve a remnant for Himself, of His people. We, as Gentiles adopted into the family of God through Christ's blood, are heirs of that promise. So as Islam makes its march into this nation of ours, God is not sleeping, and He is not mocked. We will survive.

Happy New Year, porch! It won't be perfect, but it will do until Christ takes us home. --Romeena

December 31, 2009 - Msg 76939: Good parting words to end 2009 Romeena. Hope everyone has a nice safe evening. Happy New Year!
