October 14, 2001 - Msg 2609: Hi RickyB, SaltyDog, AngFan, Mavis, Asa, Hazel and all the porch. Good Sabbath to ya! The trout was grocery store - but fresh. Although the head did have a big ol' dent in it...maybe it *was* a golf ball casualty. Glad you enjoyed the dinner as much as I did (t'wern't no imaginary dinner either). So, guess what's for breakfast? Cornbread, eggs, MEAT and coffee. I just love being efficient with my leftovers. Must be the Aunt Bea in me.

Yes Hazel, I can't hardly stand to watch the news, but living in St. Petersburg, I can't NOT watch it. It's tense. Real tense.

October 14, 2001 - Msg 2612: Good Sabbath Morning. Going to be a stormy day here in my corner of Mayberry.
We are having sunshine right this moment.
Hey Ricky B and Salty Dog. Long time no see.
I love apple pie with ice cream on it. If you don't have the vanilla ice cream, I don't want the pie. "Wonder what causes that ?"
It is sad to watch the news, but we need to be informed. Even in my area several envelopes containing powder have been found. Scarey. We have to "lift up our eyes and look for Jesus".
I'm having sausage, that I'm forming to look like links and frying. Then I spread out the cresant (?sp) rolls and put cheese on them and then wrap the sausage roll on them. Then heat in oven until rolls are done (remember sausage has already been cooked first).
I think I'll scramble up a few eggs to go with it. Anyone coming. I know it is late, it will be more like brunch.
God bless everyone and continue to remember the people in New York, the Pentegon, the ones who lost family in the Pennsylvania crash and the people and dogs who keep searching the devastation of the WTC. Also many are left homeless because their buildings were made unsafe by the falling of the two towers and the blast the impact of the planes caused.

October 15, 2001 - Msg 2627: I can't take credit for the sausage thingys. The recipe was told to me by someone else. Good though. I never tried it with hot dogs.
We got through the storm with no damage. Not too bad, hard rain and some high wind gusts. Then the sun tried to peak through the clouds and there was an eerie yellowish tint to everything and then it turned pink. Lovely. It is amazing but from Saturday to Sunday, trees turned colors overnight and with the high winds yesterday many leaves fell. I just hope they didn't fall in Mt.Airy. I hope Saturday to go up there for the day and want to take pictures if the trees are colorful.
The view from that hill at the corner at the Andy Griffith Playhouse, it is awesome at Mayberry Days, if the trees are colorful it will be spectacular.

See ya in a little while. ~New Neighbor

October 18, 2001 - Msg 2678: Oh dear Asa, I am so glad that you are on the road to recovery. I sure hope that Granny wasn't your surgeon or you won't know what color your stitches will be in.

Hot chocolate sounds wonderful NN but could please add a little coffee creamer to mine. It makes is oh so much better. I haven't tried the flavored coffee creamers but I bet they would taste good too.

School is going pretty well. Next week is Fall Break (or what used to be called Teachers Institute around here - I now know why they called it that because after you teach so long - you feel that you need to be institutionalized!) We have one student that can't seem to control when he goes to the bathroom and has had several accidents (and I mean accidents) so he was sent to the ROCK (the bathroom in my room) and I get to perform potty patrol. He comes in every half hour. We don't think he was properly potty trained. And you thought teachers only taught readin', ritin', and rithmatic. It's a far cry from that anymore! So call me Captain Potty Patrol!

Those critters will soon be getting off the bus!

Take care - eat some soup Asa. . .it does a body good!

Sounds like Hazel has been doing a grand job at the bank for me, bless her heart. Sorry about them Redskins Mavis, it don't look good for them. Maybe they will beat them at RFK. Little Blessings.
many are the gifts and favors
that we harvest every day-
never knowing they are blessing
that are graced upon our way;
little things we hardly notice
that are favors of the Lord,
for our Christian faith and duty
and devotion to accord.
Little blessings, gifts and favors
that enrich our daily life
and enhance our strength and courage
to endure the woes of strife;
gifets of love - too rife to notice-
that are blessings every days,
to protect us and endear us
at our labor and our play.

October 19, 2001 - Msg 2717: So what is this chat forum thing about?

Dale

October 19, 2001 - Msg 2718: Seems like the porch has the hicups.
Dale, this forum is about The Andy Griffith Show (TAGS) and personall stuff and just a lot of neighborly, clean fun.
I have been down today as a friend of my father's died. The sweetest man. (My father died 9 1/2 years ago). Also I have a friend sick with kidney problems and a friend's mother sick with kidney problems, my husband's cousin has kidney problems and a friend's cat has kidney problems. Please pray for them all. Thanks.
Miss Ellie
"We shall me but we shall miss him, there will be one vacant chair..."

October 19, 2001 - Msg 2719: Well, Dale, it's like this. We're a group of people who have one major thing in common. We all love the Andy Griffith Show. And we watch the reruns over and over. So this is the front porch, like the one at Andy Taylors house, and we all sit around and chat with each other, like old friends. And we really do become friends with each other, and try to look after each other. Did I explain that right, gang?
- Hazel

October 19, 2001 - Msg 2720: Doggone it, Miss Ellie's message wasn't there when I first started to post, but she slipped hers in first. I wanted to be the one to explain it to Dale. Am I acting childish? You don't think I'm acting childish do you?
